Job summary

Adani Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to drive thermal power plant projects from execution to handover. You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure on-time delivery of electrical systems and equipment.

The role requires 6–12 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of testing and commissioning, and a focus on safety and quality at all times. Based in Korba, this position involves extensive field work and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• 6-12 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of EPC project execution in electrical systems.
• Experience with testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical project activities in Thermal Power Plant projects.
• Monitor installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, technical specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, contractors, consultants, and site teams.
• Track project progress and resolve technical issues during execution.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of generators, transformers, switchgear, GIS/AIS yards, and related systems.
• Review testing procedures and commissioning plans; coordinate with OEMs and consultants.
• Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors; review invoices and certify work completed.
• Prepare project schedules and progress reports; review drawings and documents.
• Ensure timely submission of MIS and project documentation; support handover activities.
• Promote safe work practices and conduct risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities Project Execution

• Execute electrical project activities in Thermal Power Plant projects.

Electrical Systems Management

• Oversee installation and commissioning of:
  • Generators
  • Transformers
  • Switchgear (HT/LT)
  • GIS/AIS Switchyards
  • Bus Ducts
  • Motors and MCCs
  • UPS, Battery Systems & Chargers
  • Electrical Protection Systems
  • Plant Lighting Systems
  • Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems

Testing & Commissioning

• Review and execute testing procedures and commissioning plans.
• Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with OEMs and consultants during equipment testing.
• Ensure successful synchronization and system integration activities.

Contract & Vendor Management

• Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors.
• Review contractor bills and certify work completion.
• Monitor contract compliance, progress, and performance.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical discussions and issue resolution.

Planning & Documentation

• Prepare project schedules and progress reports.
• Review engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Ensure timely submission of reports, MIS, and project documentation.
• Facilitate punch point closure and project handover activities.

Safety & Quality

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Implement quality control procedures during execution.
• Conduct risk assessments and corrective actions.
• Promote safe work practices at project sites.

Qualifications

Diploma, B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
