Job summary

Adani Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead execution across thermal power plant projects. You will supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring schedules, specifications, and safety standards are met.

The role requires 6–12 years of hands-on experience in electrical project delivery, coordination with engineering, procurement, and site teams, and effective vendor management. On-site work at power facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 6-12 years of experience in electrical project execution in power/industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Execute electrical project activities in Thermal Power Plant projects.
• Monitor installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, technical specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, contractors, consultants, and site teams.
• Track project progress and resolve technical issues during execution.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of generators, transformers, switchgear, GIS/AIS switchyards, bus ducts, motors/MCCs, UPS and battery systems, and protection/lighting/earthing systems.
• Review and execute testing procedures and commissioning plans and coordinate with OEMs/consultants.
• Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors; review bills and certify work completion; monitor contract compliance, progress, and performance.
• Prepare project schedules and progress reports; review engineering drawings and documents; ensure timely submission of MIS and project reports; support punch point closure and handover.
• Ensure electrical safety standards and implement quality control; conduct risk assessments and promote safe work practices on site.

Testing & Commissioning

• Review and execute testing procedures and commissioning plans.
• Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with OEMs and consultants during equipment testing.
• Ensure successful synchronization and system integration activities.

Contract & Vendor Management

• Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors.
• Review contractor bills and certify work completion.
• Monitor contract compliance, progress, and performance.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical discussions and issue resolution.

Planning & Documentation

• Prepare project schedules and progress reports.
• Review engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Ensure timely submission of reports, MIS, and project documentation.
• Facilitate punch point closure and project handover activities.

Safety & Quality

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Implement quality control procedures during execution.
• Conduct risk assessments and corrective actions.
• Promote safe work practices at project sites.

Qualifications

Diploma, B.E./ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
