Job summary

JobItUs is seeking an experienced EHS professional to oversee statutory compliance across multiple regulatory authorities in a Gujarat-based facility. The role focuses on hazardous waste management, PPE implementation, and the development of robust EHS SOPs.

The candidate will lead risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, while managing work permit systems and CAPA processes. A strong background in QMS and regulatory reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in EHS regulatory compliance and industrial safety practices.
• Knowledge of GPCB/CPCB, PESO, and other regulatory frameworks is desirable.
• Familiarity with hazard assessment methods and risk mitigation practices.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with and ensure statutory compliance with GPCB, DISH, GIDC, PESO, Prohibition & Excise and other regulatory authorities.
• Ensure compliance related to hazardous waste management as per applicable GPCB/CPCB requirements.
• Manage work permit systems including Hot Work, Work at Height, Confined Space, Civil Work, etc.
• Ensure effective implementation and usage of PPE across the factory.
• Develop and implement EHS SOPs, safety rules and checklists.
• Handle QMS activities and ensure relevant compliance.
• Conduct EHS training as per the EHS Training Matrix.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions and drive timely corrective actions.
• Lead QRA, PSSR, HAZOP, HIRA, Exposure Risk Assessment and Job Safety Analysis.
• Conduct safety induction, firefighting training, mock drills and first-aid training.
• Plan and conduct EHS audits and ensure closure of corrective/preventive actions.
• Lead accident/incident investigation and CAPA implementation.
• Ensure adequate first-aid facilities and trained personnel at site.
• Prepare and execute EHS CAPEX & Revenue Budgets.
• Monitor ETP operations, documentation, records and compliance.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks, safety campaigns and environmental awareness activities.
• Promote near-miss reporting and employee participation in EHS initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS legal and regulatory requirements.
• Authorized to stop unsafe work and take appropriate action for non-compliance.
