Responsibilities

• Plant Electrical Maintenance & Uptime: ensure reliable operation and max uptime of electrical equipment across the DRI Plant.
• Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: adhere to CLTI and preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot breakdowns, participate in RCA and CAPA.
• Shutdown Maintenance: plan and execute electrical maintenance during plant shutdowns, optimize duration and costs.
• Spares & Maintenance Materials Management: ensure availability of spares per Min-Max, manage ERP-based requisition and inventory.
• Team Management & Development: lead and coordinate the electrical maintenance team, plan manpower, provide guidance.
• Safety, Compliance & Workplace Standards: ensure compliance with EHS/ IMS, enforce safety procedures and 3S standards

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance professional to manage electrical maintenance activities for our DRI Plant at Kalunga, Odisha. The role is responsible for ensuring high equipment availability, reliable plant operations, effective preventive and breakdown maintenance, shutdown planning, spares management, team coordination, and continuous maintenance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Electrical Maintenance & Uptime

• Ensure reliable operation and maximum uptime of electrical equipment across the DRI Plant.
• Monitor electrical equipment performance and implement reliability improvement measures.
• Drive maintenance improvement initiatives to reduce equipment breakdowns and downtime.
• Support production targets through effective and timely maintenance practices.

2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

• Ensure adherence to CLTI (Cleaning, Lubrication, Tightening & Inspection) and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor maintenance checklists, schedules, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot electrical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance MIS reports.

3. Shutdown Maintenance

• Plan, schedule, and execute electrical maintenance activities during plant shutdowns.
• Ensure timely completion of shutdown jobs as per approved schedules.
• Optimize shutdown duration, manpower utilization, and maintenance costs.
• Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and other departments during shutdown activities.

4. Spares & Maintenance Materials Management

• Ensure availability of electrical and instrumentation spares as per defined Min-Max levels.
• Maintain the readiness and health of critical/insurance spares.
• Coordinate ERP-based spare requisition, indenting, issue, and inventory monitoring.
• Identify refurbishment and repair opportunities to optimize maintenance costs.

5. Team Management & Development

• Lead and coordinate the electrical maintenance team for smooth and uninterrupted operations.
• Plan manpower deployment and ensure effective utilization of available resources.
• Monitor team performance and provide technical guidance.
• Identify training requirements and support skill development of maintenance personnel.

6. Safety, Compliance & Workplace Standards

• Ensure compliance with EHS, IMS, electrical safety, and statutory requirements.
• Enforce safe work practices, permit-to-work systems, LOTO, and other applicable safety procedures.
• Promote a zero-accident and zero-LTI work culture.
• Maintain and monitor 3S standards within the electrical maintenance department.

Key Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance in DRI / Steel Plants.
• Hands-on experience with HT/HV systems, motors, drives, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, and electrical distribution systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventive, breakdown, predictive, and shutdown maintenance.
• Good team management, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP-based maintenance and spare management systems.
• Good understanding of electrical safety and statutory requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 8–10 years of relevant experience in DRI / Steel Plant Electrical Maintenance.
• Experience in maintenance of drives, motors, transformers, HT systems, and 11 KV lines will be preferred.
• 11 KV Certification will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with strong hands-on experience in DRI plant electrical maintenance will be preferred.
