Position Summary
The Senior MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for construction projects. The role ensures that all MEP installations are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise day-to-day MEP site execution activities.
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, BOQ and technical submittals.
- Coordinate MEP services with Civil, Structural, Architectural, ELV, Fire Fighting, HVAC and other project teams.
- Monitor installation of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and other MEP systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and client representatives.
- Resolve technical issues, site constraints, drawing discrepancies and MEP clashes.
- Prepare and follow up on RFI, MIR, WIR, inspection requests and technical submissions.
- Monitor contractor manpower, productivity, work quality and daily progress.
- Ensure availability and timely procurement of approved MEP materials.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage and rework.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Track MEP activities against the approved project schedule and identify delays.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, method statements, risk assessments and permit systems.
- Supervise testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Coordinate functional testing, balancing, flushing, pressure testing and other applicable inspections.
- Prepare and maintain as-built drawings, testing reports, OM manuals and handover documentation.
- Lead snagging activities and ensure timely closure of outstanding MEP works.
- Support final inspection, project handover and defect-liability-period activities.
- Mentor junior engineers, supervisors and site teams.

- Testing and commissioning completed as scheduled.
- 100% closure of critical snags before handover.
- Complete and timely submission of MEP handover documentation.
Required Skills Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering, depending on the MEP discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant MEP construction experience for a senior-level position.
- Strong knowledge of MEP installation, coordination and commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications and BOQs.
- Knowledge of applicable local codes, standards and project specifications.
- Strong contractor and consultant coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD and project planning/reporting tools.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
