Job summary

ENS Group in Chennai is seeking an experienced plant maintenance professional to own reliability, maintenance planning and breakdown response at the West Tambaram facility. You will lead preventive and predictive programs for mechanical, electrical and utility systems, and coordinate multiple teams and contractors to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment history, MTTR/MTBF dashboards, and enforcing safety standards while driving continuous improvements in maintenance

Qualifications

• Hands-on industrial plant maintenance experience.
• Experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ability to coordinate maintenance teams and external contractors.
• Working knowledge of CMMS and safety systems.
• Willingness to respond to plant breakdowns at the Chennai facility.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute preventive, predictive and statutory maintenance plans for mechanical, electrical and utility systems.
• Lead breakdown diagnosis and restoration, perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment history, checklists, downtime records and maintenance dashboards.
• Plan critical spares, consumables, tools, shutdowns and contractor support within budgets.
• Coordinate maintenance for pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and related systems.
• Enforce permit-to-work, LOTO, contractor safety and safe isolation practices.
• Develop technicians, allocate work and report equipment risks to management.

ROLE PURPOSE

Own the reliability and maintenance of plant equipment, utilities and supporting infrastructure. The role will establish preventive and predictive maintenance discipline, lead breakdown response, control spares and contractors, and improve uptime while maintaining safe work practices and clear maintenance records.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTED OUTCOMES

• Create and execute preventive, predictive and statutory maintenance plans for mechanical, electrical and utility systems.
• Lead breakdown diagnosis and restoration, perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment history, checklists, downtime records, MTBF/MTTR data and maintenance dashboards through CMMS or disciplined trackers.
• Plan critical spares, consumables, tools, shutdowns and contractor support within approved budgets.
• Coordinate maintenance for pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, reaction/process equipment, utilities, electrical panels and pollution-control systems.
• Enforce permit-to-work, LOTO, contractor safety, housekeeping and safe isolation practices during maintenance activity.
• Develop technicians, allocate work and report equipment risks, recurring failures and capital-replacement needs to management.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on industrial plant maintenance, including preventive and breakdown responsibility.
• Ability to coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance teams and external contractors.
• Working knowledge of CMMS, spare-parts planning, RCA, utilities and industrial safety systems.
• Willingness to respond to plant breakdowns and work from the West Tambaram, Chennai facility.
