Job summary

JK Botanicals Pvt Ltd in Navi Mumbai (Taloja area) is seeking a Maintenance Executive to ensure the smooth operation of all plant machinery, utilities and equipment through preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.

The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, ensuring safety compliance and maintaining comprehensive maintenance records, while coordinating with production, stores and external service providers.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• ITI with relevant experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all production machinery and utilities.
• Attend breakdowns promptly and restore operations with minimum downtime.
• Monitor and maintain utilities such as air compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, DG sets, electrical panels, water pumps and HVAC systems.
• Maintain critical spare inventory and raise purchase requisitions for parts.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and upgrades of machinery; suggest automation and process improvements.
• Ensure safe maintenance practices and use of PPE; follow LOTO procedures.
• Maintain maintenance reports, records, and history cards; update ERP/CMMS/Excel records.
• Coordinate with production, quality, stores and purchase departments; supervise technicians and maintenance helpers.
• Coordinate with external service providers and contractors; verify service reports and invoices.

Education

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

The Maintenance Executive is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all plant machinery, utilities, and equipment through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The role focuses on minimizing machine downtime, improving equipment reliability, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining proper maintenance records.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive Maintenance

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all production machinery and utilities.
• Ensure timely servicing, lubrication, calibration, and inspection of equipment.
• Maintain preventive maintenance checklists and records.
• Coordinate with production to plan maintenance activities without affecting production targets.

2. Breakdown Maintenance

• Attend machine breakdowns immediately and restore operations with minimum downtime.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Identify root causes of recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

3. Utilities Management

• Monitor and maintain:
  • Air Compressors
  • Boilers (if applicable)
  • Chillers
  • Cooling Towers
  • DG Sets
  • Electrical Panels
  • Water Pumps
  • HVAC Systems
• Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to production.

4. Spare Parts Management

• Maintain critical spare inventory.
• Raise purchase requisitions for required spare parts.
• Verify received materials and maintain stock records.
• Control maintenance costs through proper inventory planning.

5. Installation & Improvement

• Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Participate in machine shifting, modifications, and upgrades.
• Suggest automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Implement cost-saving and energy-saving projects.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe maintenance practices and use of PPE.
• Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance work.
• Ensure compliance with Factory Safety Standards, Electrical Safety, GMP, and statutory requirements.
• Participate in safety audits and corrective action implementation.

7. Documentation

• Maintain:
  • Preventive Maintenance Records
  • Breakdown Reports
  • Machine History Cards
  • Utility Log Books
  • Spare Parts Inventory
  • Calibration Records
  • AMC Records
• Update maintenance reports on ERP/Excel/CMMS.

8. Vendor Management

• Coordinate with external service providers and contractors.
• Supervise AMC activities.
• Verify service reports and invoices.
• Ensure quality and timely completion of outsourced maintenance work.

9. Team Coordination

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, and Purchase departments.
• Guide technicians and maintenance helpers during repair work.
• Allocate daily maintenance activities and monitor completion.
