Department: Mechanical Maintenance Engineering
Location
Plant Site- Taloja, Navi Mumbai
Role Purpose
To ensure the reliability, eiciency, and safety of all mechanical equipment and utilities
by implementing preventive maintenance practices, statutory compliance
requirements, continuous improvement initiatives, TPM activities, and eective
shutdown planning while maintaining world-class standards in safety, quality, and
operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory requirements related to Safety, Health, Environment (SHE), and plant operations.
- Promote and sustain a Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) culture across the department.
- Ensure zero incidents and accidents within the assigned work area.
- Implement safe work practices and ensure adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and permit systems.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping through 5S and Good Housekeeping (GHK) practices in workshops and oices.
Quality & Compliance
- Implement and maintain management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 22716 GMP requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations and non-conformities.
- Maintain and update all quality, maintenance, and compliance-related documentation.
- Act as department coordinator for certification and surveillance audits.
Maintenance Management
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure 100% compliance of planned maintenance activities through SAP.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and maintain associated records.
- Develop and implement lubrication management programs to improve equipment reliability.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements.
Project & Shutdown Management
- Plan and execute major shutdowns, CAPEX, and REPEX projects.
- Prepare shutdown reports, monthly MIS reports, and maintenance performance reports.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for successful project execution within timelines and budgets.
- Prepare purchase requisitions (PRs) for services, spares, and capital equipment requirements.
TPM & Continuous Improvement
- Lead TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives under the PM Pillar for mechanical systems.
- Drive productivity, reliability, cost-saving, and energy-saving improvement projects.
- Optimize inventory management and spare parts planning.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational eiciency.
Budget & Resource Management
- Prepare and monitor annual maintenance budgets.
- Control maintenance costs while ensuring equipment reliability and operational excellence.
- Evaluate vendors technically and conduct supplier audits when required.
Training & Team Development
- Develop training schedules and skill matrices for mechanical operators and technicians.
- Conduct technical training programs and maintain competency records through JCP or equivalent systems.
- Mentor and guide maintenance team members for continuous skill
