Job summary

Exide Industries in Pune is seeking an Officer / Sr. Officer - Mechanical Maintenance in MIDC Chinchwad.

You will be responsible for the functioning of mechanical maintenance for plant and machineries, utilities, and maintenance manpower, ensuring best and safe maintenance practices and timely MIS and system compliances. The role emphasizes achieving targets, preventive and breakdown maintenance, cost reduction, and implementation of PM pillars with 5S and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4–6 years' experience in plant maintenance.
• Experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical maintenance for plant and utilities.
• Plan maintenance manpower, spares, and resources.
• Ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards.
• Drive PM programs and cost reduction initiatives.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

• To take responsibility for functioning of Mechanical Maintenance for Plant and machineries, utilities, Handling of Maintenance manpower, Implementation of Best & Safe Maintenance practices and ensuring timely MIS & system compliances.

STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieving targets set by management for KRAs
• Repair, breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance
• Reduction in cost of Repairs & Maintenance,
• Reduction in breakdowns of plant and machineries.
• Investigating reasons for equipment failure & to take preventive & corrective action for failure
• Implementation of Best & Safe Maintenance practices
• Implementation of Projects related to Capacity / quality improvements/ Cast saving / Safety and moral
• TS16949, IMS, customer specific system compliance & meeting statutory requirements.
• MIS generation & effective communication with management
• Motivation & skill development and Rational use of manpower

KEY INTERNAL INTERFACES KEY EXTERNAL INTERFACES

• Ensuring adherence to Preventive Maintenance schedule.
• Taking various cost reduction measures to achieve budgetary levels.
• Planning, organize spares & other resources for effective & economical manufacturing.
• Confirming high standard of safety in Factory, ensuring work permit for all relevant jobs. Ensuring zero accident.
• Determining & periodically reviewing the manpower requirement in the areas of maintenance
• Training of operatives & supervisors.
• Ensuring involvement of maintenance team in various CFTs
• Ensuring 5S in the department

• Coordinate with Production & Quality by understanding & taking appropriate action to meet the requirement.
  
• Active involvement in various CFTs.
• Ensuring the basic condition of Plant & Machines.
• Ensuring maximum uptime of Plant machineries.
• Ensuring implementation of PM Pillar activities, coordinate with JH, SHE, QM pillars.
• TS16949, IMS, customer specific system compliance and electrical system compliances
• Installation & commissioning of new machines & implementation of new technologies by consulting with all stake holders.
  

Education Experience

• B. E. / B. Tech - Mechanical Engineer
• At least 4 to 6 years of experience in Plant Maintenance Role & responsibilities
