Job summary

Transenergy in Chennai is seeking a seasoned maintenance professional to oversee TPM programs, preventive maintenance, and asset reliability across plant machinery.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, with experience in IATF standards and calibration practices. You will manage spare parts inventory, safety compliance, budgeting, and CI initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Maintenance and repair of all machine tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Spare parts planning and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of TPM and calibration practices.
  • Knowledge of IATF standards and internal auditing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain machine downtime at zero for TPM-designated machines and within agreed standards for others.
  • Plan, procure, and maintain machine spare parts while reducing inventory.
  • Ensure equipment safety and compliance for pressure vessels, lifting tackles, ammonia handling, and electrical safety.
  • Implement and sustain TPM in the assigned area.
  • Plan and execute machine reconditioning activities.
  • Ensure timely commissioning of new machines and equipment.
  • Provide and maintain uninterrupted utility services: electricity, water, compressed air.
  • Lead CI initiatives in Preventive Maintenance area.
  • Identify training needs and provide training to subordinates.
  • Prepare the annual maintenance budget and exercise cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS requirements.

Job description

Role & responsibilities


Accountability & Responsibilities

1. Maintain machine downtime at:

  • Zero for TPM-designated machines.
  • Within agreed standards/norms for all other machines.

2. Plan, procure, and maintain machine spare parts while optimizing and reducing spare inventory levels.

3. Ensure equipment safety and statutory compliance related to:

  • Pressure Vessels
  • Lifting Tackles
  • Ammonia Handling and Usage
  • Electrical Safety

4. Implement and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in the assigned area.

5. Plan and execute machine reconditioning activities.

6. Ensure timely commissioning of new machines and equipment.

7. Provide and maintain uninterrupted utility services such as:

  • Electricity
  • Water
  • Compressed Air across all departments.

8. Initiate and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in the Preventive Maintenance (PM) area.

9. Identify training needs and provide appropriate training to subordinates.

10. Prepare the annual maintenance budget and exercise effective cost control.

11. Ensure compliance with applicable Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Authority

1. Authorize procurement of machine spare parts and maintain optimum inventory levels.

2. Decide on maintenance methods, techniques, and practices to be adopted.

7. Knowledge of IATF standards and internal auditing requirements.

8. Knowledge of fire safety systems, fire extinguishers, and statutory/regulatory compliance requirements.

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant maintenance experience.
