Job summary

WOW Softech in Bhilai, India, seeks a seasoned Maintenance Leader to drive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for the plant. The role focuses on the Disamatic moulding line and related foundry equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and robust RCA-driven improvements.

You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, oversee budget, spares, and vendor coordination, and foster a safety-first shop floor culture with hands-on technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a foundry (ferrous/non-ferrous).
• Hands-on experience with Disamatic moulding machines and shop-floor leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for the plant, focusing on the Disamatic line.
• Ensure maximum uptime of Disamatic moulding, sand plant, melting, fettling, and material handling equipment.
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs: OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and unplanned downtime daily.
• Lead maintenance team: mentoring, rostering, skill-matrix development, and safety culture.

Job description

Role & responsibilities :

Maintenance Operations

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for the entire plant, with special focus on the Disamatic moulding line.
• Ensure maximum uptime of the Disamatic machine, sand plant, melting section, fettling, and material handling equipment.
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for all major breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Monitor daily equipment performance KPIs: OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and unplanned downtime.

Disamatic & Foundry Equipment Expertise

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for the operation, fault-finding, and overhaul of the Disamatic vertical moulding line.
• Supervise the maintenance of sand mixers, core shooters, shot blasting machines, induction furnaces, and overhead cranes.
• Coordinate with Disamatic OEM and spare-parts vendors for critical service support and long-lead spares.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, fitters, and electricians.
• Plan shift rosters, skill-matrix development, and on-the-job training programs.
• Foster a safety-first and ownership-driven culture on the shop floor.

Cost, Spares & Vendor Management

• Prepare and control the annual maintenance budget, capex proposals, and spare-parts inventory.
• Negotiate AMCs and service contracts with OEMs and local vendors.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives through in-house fabrication, reverse engineering, and spares indigenisation.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Enforce strict compliance with Factories Act, statutory inspections, and internal EHS standards.
• Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to minimise rejections arising from machine / mould related issues.
• Ensure timely statutory audits, insurance inspections, and documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

Education

• Diploma or B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a ferrous / non-ferrous foundry.
• Mandatory hands-on experience of working on a Disamatic moulding machine (DISA 2013, 130, 131, 230, 231, 240 series or equivalent).
• Prior experience in leading a shop-floor maintenance team.
