Job summary

Chembond Chemicals in Ankleshwar (Gujarat) is seeking a Maintenance Lead to develop and implement best-practice maintenance strategy across the site, driving availability and quality of production equipment.

You will lead a high-performing team, plan and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance, coordinate internal and external works, and monitor KPIs to deliver continuous improvements and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to maintenance vision, strategy, policies and procedures to improve operational performance
• Delegate maintenance issues to skilled team members across shifts and small projects
• Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site
• Develop and lead Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and ensure full preventive maintenance is carried out
• Audit and ensure compliance of engineering data systems
• Schedule internal and external works optimizing planned downtime and reducing unplanned downtime
• Manage the team to ensure machine availability and reactively address dysfunctional machinery
• Optimize equipment to meet KPIs and enhance performance and product quality
• Ensure routine calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ensure buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support
• Develop accountability for maintenance material spend and manage expenditure
• Manage systems and equipment data storage and produce written reports and presentations
• Undertake continuous training and development
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Identify and deploy technical skill sets and resources for projects
• Ensure KPIs are met by following the maintenance plan and reporting
• Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
• Manage contractors on site to meet legal and company requirements
• Ensure health, safety and environmental policies are followed for staff and visitors
• Manage, coach and develop a high performing Maintenance team and review performance
• Set department objectives/KPIs and engage with stakeholders to ensure delivery of maintenance strategy

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1) Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities General and Task Management

2) Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works

3) Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site

4) Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively

5) Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems

6) Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximizing planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime

7) Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with the Shift management

8) Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

9) Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken

10) Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required

11) Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure

12) Manage systems and equipment data storage and maintain high levels of standards and accuracy s Produce written reports and make presentations

22) Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the maintenance strategy
