Job summary

Patil Group in Hubli is seeking an experienced Maintenance Leader to develop and execute the plant maintenance strategy, balancing preventive, predictive, and corrective activities to maximise uptime and reliability.

You will lead a multi-skilled team, drive KPI improvements (MTBF, MTTR, uptime), and ensure HSE compliance while coordinating with production, quality, and engineering for plant expansions and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the plant maintenance strategy (preventive, predictive, and corrective) aligned with production and business goals.
• Establish lifecycle planning and asset management frameworks to optimise equipment performance and reliability.
• Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), condition-based monitoring (CBM), and breakdown maintenance are performed efficiently.
• Supervise maintenance of key equipment including EOT/gantry cranes, tensioning machines, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, motors, electrical systems, control panels, wiring and transformers.
• Oversee commissioning and decommissioning activities for equipment as needed.
• Implement and review maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, MTDTR and equipment uptime.
• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards in all maintenance activities.
• Lead and mentor a multi-skilled team including technicians, engineers, and contractors.
• Drive technical training programs, knowledge-sharing, and best practice dissemination across maintenance teams.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-efficient solutions while minimising downtime.
• Coordinate closely with production, quality, engineering, and safety teams to support operational goals.

Role & responsibilities

1 Strategic Maintenance Leadership

• 1.1Develop and own the plant maintenance strategy (preventive, predictive, and corrective) aligned with production and business goals.
• 1.2Establish lifecycle planning and asset management frameworks to optimise equipment performance and reliability.

2 Maintenance Execution & Oversight

• 2.1Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), condition-based monitoring (CBM), and breakdown maintenance are performed efficiently.
• 2.2Supervise maintenance of key equipment like EOT/gantry cranes, tensioning machines, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, motors, electrical systems, control panels, wiring and transformation units.
• 2.3Oversee commissioning and decommissioning activities for equipment as needed.

3 Performance Monitoring & Analytics

• 3.1Implement and review maintenance KPIs including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTDTR and equipment uptime.
• 3.2Use data from predictive tools and monitoring systems to improve maintenance decisions.

4 Safety & Compliance

• 4.1Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards in all maintenance activities.
• 4.2Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety audits, and risk assessments

.5 Team & People Management

• 5.1Lead and mentor a multi-skilled team including technicians, engineers, and contractors.
• 5.2Drive technical training programs, knowledge-sharing, and best practice dissemination across maintenance teams.
• 5.3Promote the use of right tools, fasteners, hydraulics, and safe work practices

.6 Budgeting & Cost Control

• 6.1Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-efficient solutions while minimising downtime.
• 6.2Identify areas for cost optimization through better planning and efficient maintenance systems.

7 Collaboration & Support

• 7.1Coordinate closely with production, quality, engineering, and safety teams to support operational goals.
• 7.2Provide technical inputs for plant expansions, upgrades, and new equipment installations.
