Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in India is seeking an experienced Mainframe MQ Administrator (8-12 years) to install, configure, migrate, and maintain IBM MQ on z/OS. You will work across MQ components, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and DR readiness.

Collaborating with application teams, you will manage QSGs, CFSTRUCTs, SMDS, channels, and queue definitions while handling MQ security and monitoring using Sysview and related tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in IBM MQ Admin on Mainframe (z/OS) is required.
• Familiar with MQ monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of QSG, CFSTRUCT, SMDS, and MQ object administration.
• Experience with ACF2 security and Sysview for MQ monitoring.

Position: Mainframe MQ Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, migrate, and maintain IBM MQ on z/OS environments.
• Administer and support MQ-related tools such as IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE, MQ Explorer, MQ Visual Edit, MQAUSX (Capitalware), and other in-house utilities.
• Monitor MQ performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform performance tuning activities.
• Manage Queue Sharing Groups (QSG), CFSTRUCT, SMDS, channels, queues, process definitions, and related MQ objects.
• Support MQ infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and product releases.
• Perform problem determination and coordinate with IBM support for issue resolution.
• Ensure MQ high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and participate in DR testing activities.
• Review and implement MQ security controls, including ACF2 security configurations.
• Monitor MQ environments using Sysview and other monitoring tools.
• Work closely with application teams to support MQ integration and messaging requirements.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in IBM MQ Administration on Mainframe (z/OS).
• Good knowledge of SMP/E, HOLDDATA, zones/libraries, system libraries, and product lifecycle management.
• Understanding of z/OS concepts such as APF, LINKLIST, LPA, and VSAM.
• Experience with MQ monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Queue Sharing Groups (QSG), CFSTRUCT, SMDS, and MQ object administration.
• Familiarity with Disaster Recovery processes and testing.
• Experience with ACF2 security and Sysview for MQ monitoring.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
