Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Mainframe MQ Administrator (L3) with extensive hands-on IBM MQ and CICS experience. The role involves MQ installation, configuration, upgrades, and production support in a z/OS environment across multiple locations in India.

Strong expertise in MQ Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, and monitoring with tools like OMEGAMON for MQ, MQ Explorer, and TEPS is required. On-call availability will be expected for critical production issues.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on IBM MQ / WebSphere MQ administration on Mainframe z/OS.
• In-depth MQ installation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with MQ monitoring and performance tuning using OMEGAMON for MQ, MQ Explorer, TEPS.

Responsibilities

• Perform IBM MQ installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Administer MQ Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Processes, Topics, and related MQ objects.
• Configure and manage MQ monitoring and alerts using MQ Explorer, OMEGAMON for MQ, TEPS, and related tools.
• Design MQ architecture and messaging flows based on application requirements.
• Create and manage MQ objects including Local/Remote/Alias/Model Queues, Channels, Processes, Topics, and Queue Managers.
• Execute IBM MQ utilities for queue/message administration, including backup, deletion, recovery, and maintenance.
• Monitor MQ performance and troubleshoot issues across Mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Provide production support, incident management, and 24x7 on-call support as required.

Job Summary

We are looking for a strong Mainframe MQ Administrator / IBM MQ Mainframe Administrator L3 with extensive hands-on experience in IBM MQ and CICS environments. The candidate will be responsible for IBM MQ installation, configuration, upgrades, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, architecture, and production support in a Mainframe z/OS environment.

• Conduct daily MQ health checks and automate Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) monitoring and processing.
• Monitor MQ performance and troubleshoot message-processing issues, queue/channel problems, and connectivity issues.
• Analyze MQ CPU utilization and SMF statistics for performance monitoring and tuning.
• Support integration between IBM MQ and other Mainframe products such as CICS, DB2, IMS, and third-party application servers.
• Troubleshoot MQ connectivity and messaging issues across Mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Provide production support, incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with IBM and ISV vendors for incidents, problems, software downloads, patches, escalations, and technical support.
• Provide 24x7 on-call / after-hours production support as required.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in IBM MQ / WebSphere MQ administration.

• Strong communication and coordination skills with application, infrastructure, vendor, and business teams.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong IBM MQ Mainframe Administrator with proven L3 production support experience.
• Excellent hands-on expertise in IBM MQ + CICS.
• Good understanding of Mainframe messaging architecture and MQ performance.
• Capable of independently troubleshooting complex MQ issues and supporting critical production environments.
