Job summary

HypTechie in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, is seeking an experienced Application Production Support Mainframe Engineer with 5-7 years of hands-on experience to join our team. You will provide L2/L3 production support for mainframe applications, analyze abends, and resolve DB2 issues and CICS/IMS failures.

The role requires strong programming skills in COBOL, JCL, DB2 and PL/I, along with batch job monitoring, restart/recovery, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in application production support.
• Provides L2/L3 production support for mainframe applications, analyzing and resolving abends, DB2 issues and CICS/IMS failures.
• Proficient in mainframe technologies and tools as listed under Technical Proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance programs using COBOL, JCL, DB2.
• Perform batch job monitoring, restart/recovery and performance tuning.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams during incidents and participate in release activities, code reviews and deployments.

Technical Proficiency
