• Strong experience with IBM Mainframe (z/OS).
• Hands-on production support across mainframe and distributed environments.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Easytrieve, and SORT.
• Experience with DB2, CICS, IMS.
• Knowledge of job scheduling tools (CA-7, Control-M, TWS/OPC).
• Experience with APM tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes).
• Strong ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management skills.
• Experience with log analysis, monitoring, and alerting tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 production support for mainframe and distributed applications.
• Monitor batch, online, and distributed environments to ensure system stability.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents across platforms (mainframe and distributed).
• Perform abend analysis, job restarts, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Use APM tools to identify performance bottlenecks and prevent incidents.
• Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and availability improvements.
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, middleware, and database teams for issue resolution.
• Manage production releases, deployments, and change activities.
• Support critical business cycles (month-end, quarter-end, year-end).
• Ensure SLA adherence and ITIL compliance.
• Maintain operational documentation, run books, and knowledge base articles.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Support professional with experience supporting both IBM z/OS mainframe and distributed applications. The role involves 24x7 production support, incident management, application monitoring, and performance troubleshooting using APM tools to ensure high availability and optimal system performance across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 production support for mainframe and distributed applications
• Monitor batch, online, and distributed application environments to ensure system stability
• Analyze and resolve production incidents across platforms (mainframe and distributed)
• Perform abend analysis, job restarts, and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Use Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools to identify performance bottlenecks and proactively prevent incidents
• Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and availability improvements
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, middleware, and database teams for issue resolution

Required Skills

• Knowledge of job scheduling tools (CA-7, Control-M, TWS/OPC)
• Experience using Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, or similar
• Strong skills in incident, problem, and change management (ITIL)
• Experience with log analysis, monitoring, and alerting tools

Good to Have

• Exposure to middleware technologies (WebSphere, MQ, Tomcat, Kafka, etc.)
• Exposure to Cloud Technologies (PCF Preferred)
• Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Python)
• Experience in BFSI or other high-availability environments
