Role Summary

The Logistics Manager will lead end-to-end import, supply chain, warehousing, transportation, dispatch, customs clearance, and trade-compliance activities. The role is responsible for ensuring timely movement of goods, accurate documentation, cost control, statutory compliance, and seamless coordination with foreign suppliers, freight partners, banks, customs authorities, warehouses, and internal departments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage end-to-end international shipments through air and courier modes, from supplier dispatch to final delivery.
  • Coordinate with foreign suppliers on production readiness, dispatch schedules, packing lists, invoices, certificates, and other shipment documents.
  • Oversee freight forwarding, customs clearance, port or airport handling, local transportation, warehousing, and final dispatch operations.
  • Monitor shipment status, identify potential delays, and take corrective action to ensure committed delivery timelines are met.
  • Manage import documentation, including purchase orders, commercial invoices, packing lists, airway bills, bills of entry, certificates of origin, insurance documents, and licence-related records.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, transporters, warehouse teams, banks, insurers, and government departments.
  • Manage IDPMS closures and coordinate trade-related banking activities, including GR waiver and other import-payment documentation.
  • Oversee marine and domestic transit insurance policies, claims coordination, and risk coverage for incoming and outgoing consignments.
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations, e-waste management requirements, NPPA provisions, and other applicable statutory obligations.
  • Support CDSCO import licence and medical-device registration processes by coordinating regulatory documentation with suppliers and authorities.
  • Maintain shipment trackers, licence-validity records, inventory visibility, delivery schedules, vendor performance data, and management reports.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for imports, logistics, warehousing, dispatch, documentation, and compliance.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with logistics service providers to improve service quality, cost efficiency, and turnaround time.
  • Lead, guide, and review the logistics team while coordinating closely with procurement, finance, tender, sales, service, and project teams.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Commerce, Operations, or a related field.
  • Approximately 8-12 years of relevant experience in imports, logistics, supply chain, customs clearance, or distribution, with team-handling exposure preferred.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare equipment, capital goods, or technology products will be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of customs procedures, IDPMS, import documentation, freight operations, insurance, banking coordination, CDSCO requirements, and statutory compliance.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP or inventory systems, shipment trackers, and reporting tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with domestic and international stakeholders.

  • Reduction in freight, demurrage, detention, storage, and avoidable logistics costs.
  • Accuracy and completeness of import, banking, insurance, and regulatory documentation.
  • Timely closure of IDPMS entries and statutory or regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory accuracy, vendor service levels, and internal stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Compliance with applicable import, CDSCO, NPPA, e-waste, customs, and insurance requirements.
