OPT IT is seeking a skilled Linux systems support engineer to manage and troubleshoot Linux environments in production. You will handle server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning, with emphasis on security and reliability.

The role requires strong Bash scripting, familiarity with RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu, and experience with storage and network basics. You will monitor health, manage access, and contribute to incident/ITSM processes while documenting solutions.

• Linux administration experience in production environments.
• Familiarity with RHEL, CentOS, Rocky or Ubuntu.
• Experience with Bash scripting and systemd.
• Understanding of storage (LVM, NFS) and network basics (DNS, TCP/IP).
• Ability to monitor server health and performance.
• Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsible for providing second-level technical support, troubleshooting server issues, and maintaining the stability, performance, and security of Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Linux, system, storage, network, and performance-related issues
• Monitor server health, availability, capacity, and resource utilization
• Manage user accounts, permissions, SSH access, services, processes, and file systems
• Perform server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance
• Support incident, problem, and change-management activities
• Analyze logs and alerts to identify and resolve issues within SLA

  Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration, preferably RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, or Ubuntu
  • Experience with Bash scripting, systemd, LVM, NFS, SSH, DNS, TCP/IP, and file systems
  • Familiarity with monitoring and IT service-management tools
  • Good troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

  Educational Qualifications

  Any technical degree or diploma in IT or Computer Science
