Job summary

Hero MotoCorp, headquartered in New Delhi, India, seeks a Head of Plant Functional Quality to lead the quality function across the manufacturing plant. You will establish and maintain premium-quality standards for every motorcycle rolling off the line, partnering with R&D, Production, and Supply Chain.

The role requires 20+ years in automotive quality and at least 5 years leading quality in premium/high-end two-wheelers; you will drive continuous improvement, implement ISO 9001:2015, and mentor

Qualifications

• B Tech. in engineering (educational qualification).
• 20+ years in automotive quality management, with at least 5 years leading quality in premium/ performance automotive or high-end two-wheeler manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• In-Process & Final Inspection: Oversee in-process inspections and final inspection to ensure defect-free vehicle delivery.
• Receipt Quality Inspection: Oversee RQC inspection for BOP parts to ensure defect-free part at line.
• Quality Standards: Establish and sustain world-class quality standards to meet premium vehicles requirements.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Partner with R&D and Launch teams during Proto/PP events to ensure seamless transition of new premium bike models from prototype to mass production.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead root-cause analysis (Fishbone, why-why analysis, Six Sigma, QA/QM matrix) for field failures, warranty claims, and internal rejections/defects; lead TPM QM pillar.
• Quality Strategy & Governance: Define and execute the plant’s quality roadmap aligned with premium bikes standards; maintain and upgrade QMS (ISO 9001:2015).
• Employee development: Identify competency gaps thru skill matrix, prepare the dev plan, impart training.

As a Head – you will be a part of Plant Functional Qualkty department and will report to Plant Head
Your role will be The Plant Functional Quality Head –will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the highest standards of quality across the entire manufacturing plant. This role ensures that every motorcycle rolling off the assembly line meets all the standards expected by premium segment riders.

A purpose driven role for you

• 1. In-Process & Final Inspection: Oversee In process inspections, & Final inspection to ensure Defect free vehicle delivery

Academic Qualification & Experience

B Tech.
20+ years in automotive quality management, with at least 5 years leading quality in premium/ performance automotive or high-end two-wheeler manufacturing.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

Good understanding of premium bikes, Premium Surface Finish & Paint Quality, Engine & Frame assemblies, Machining, Core Quality tools, vehicle electronics (ABS, ECU), and GD &T

Behavioural Skills
