Job summary

Idexcel is seeking a Lighting Design Engineer to drive lighting and vision systems for automotive programs. You will engage suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure vehicle objectives are achieved, from concept through manufacturing.

The role requires 6+ years in lighting design, expertise in Catia V5/Teamcenter, and experience with DFMEA, DFM, and GD&T. Location is Pune and Chennai with on-site work.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Automotive engineering.
• 6+ years of lighting design experience in automotive domain.
• Proficient with Catia V5 and Teamcenter.
• Experience across concept to manufacturing lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design lighting and vision system components for automotive applications.
• Collaborate with co-design suppliers to meet vehicle objectives.
• Define validation plans for electrical/electronic components.
• Lead issue resolution with cross-functional teams.

Qualification Criteria- BE /B. Tech (Mechanical /Automotive)

Any domain specification: Automotive Domain

Mandatory Skills -

• Catia V5, Team center
• Ability to Design the Lighting components considering the packaging area, which includes selection of Material /material grade, Material properties, Thickness.
• Experience working with all the stages of Product Development Lifecycle Concept TO Manufacturing
• Experience with Supplier interaction for part development.
• Experience in Part testing (Both DV & PV testing experience is preferred)
• Design for Manufacturability and Assembly.
• Experience in performing DFMEA
• Sheetmetal/Plastic Design experience.
• Experience in applying tolerance and GD&T

Job Description:

Essential Skills

• Strong experience in Lighting and Vision System and components
• Vision components like IRVM, Glass, Cowl screen components
• Lighting Components like Forward Lighting, Rear lighting and Signal Lighting
• Strong hands-on experience in connector design / Pinouts / PCB / LED / Wiring harness selection criteria
• Strong hands-on experience in defining validation plan for EE components
• Effective interactions with Co-design supplier to ensure Vehicle Functional Objectives are achieved.
• Effective interaction with cross functional teams on issue resolutions.
• Good leadership with team building skills.
• Strong knowledge on technical review, PPAP, Part testing, FMEA, Design kick-off and Design approval.
