Job summary

Electrica Engineers in Pune seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with CATIA V5 expertise to develop 2D/3D CAD models for plastic automotive lighting components, aligned with customer specifications. The role covers DFMEA, BOM creation, and engineering changes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage customers on drawings, and support early design stages to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• B.E in Mechanical Engineering with CATIA V5 specialization (Plastic Domain preferred)
• 0 to 1 years of experience in the design of plastic automotive lighting systems
• Proficient in CATIA V5, plastic injection molding, 3D modeling, DFMEA, BOM preparation, and engineering change management
• Strong communication skills in English, Marathi, and Hindi

Responsibilities

• 3D & 2D CAD Development: Develop 2D and 3D models of new products and parts using CATIA V5, in compliance with customer specifications.
• Product Design: Collaborate on the conceptual design and proposal of new automotive lighting products.
• Engineering Change Management: Prepare and implement engineering changes as per the approved change notes.
• Quality Interaction: Liaise with the quality and testing departments for part inspections and approvals.
• BOM Preparation: Create Bills of Materials (BOM) and material specifications for new products.
• Project Coordination: Assist in preliminary project planning, coordination, and tracking of design activities.
• Customer Interaction: Engage with customers for drawing approvals and technical discussions.

• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in English, Marathi, and Hindi.
• Software Proficiency: Expertise in CATIA V5 is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in APQP Homologation tests on lighting parts.
• Familiarity with GD&T and Plastic Tooling and assembly.
