Position Summary
The International Cruise Consultant is responsible for promoting and selling international cruise holidays to individual travelers, families, corporate clients, and travel partners. The role requires in-depth product knowledge in cruise holidays, excellent communication skills, consultative selling abilities, and exceptional customer service from inquiry through post-travel support.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate sales through enquiries using Digital Marketing, Social Media channels and direct sales calls.
- Identify customer travel preferences and recommend suitable cruise vacations.
- Prepare customized cruise holiday proposals and quotations.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Upsell cabins, beverage packages, shore excursions, insurance, flights, hotels, and transfers.
- Build long-term relationships with repeat clients.
- Generate referrals through exceptional customer service.
Customer Consultation
- Understand clients' travel requirements, budgets, and expectations.
- Explain cruise itineraries, destinations, ships, onboard facilities, and cabin categories.
- Recommend the most suitable cruise line based on customer profiles.
- Provide destination knowledge and travel advice.
- Assist customers in comparing various cruise options.
Booking & Reservations
- Handle end-to-end cruise reservations.
- Coordinate with international cruise suppliers.
- Confirm bookings and issue invoices.
- Ensure timely collection of payments.
- Monitor booking deadlines, final payments, and documentation.
- Assist with cancellations, amendments, and rebooking.
Documentation
- Guide customers regarding:
- Passport validity
- Visa requirements
- Travel insurance
- Immigration regulations
- Health declarations
- Cruise check-in procedures
- Ensure all travel documents are complete before departure.
Customer Service
- Maintain regular communication before departure.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Coordinate with cruise lines for special requests including:
- Honeymoon arrangements
- Anniversary celebrations
- Birthday events
- Accessibility requirements
- Dietary requests
- Provide post-cruise follow-up to obtain customer feedback.
Supplier Coordination
- Liaise with international cruise lines and destination partners.
- Maintain updated knowledge of:
- New ships
- Promotions
- Seasonal offers
- Fleet updates
- Route changes
- Attend supplier webinars and training sessions.
Product Knowledge
Maintain expert knowledge of major cruise brands including:

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cruise sales, international holidays, or travel consulting.
- Experience with international cruise bookings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of global travel regulations.
