Job summary

Stellar in Mumbai is seeking a Learning Support Specialist to collaboratively identify and support diverse learners within an IB environment, working with teachers, families, and specialists to enable curriculum access and independence.

You will develop IEPs, provide targeted interventions, monitor progress, document outcomes, and share inclusive strategies with staff, while partnering with parents and external professionals to foster learner belonging and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Education, Learning Disabilities, or a related field.
• Experience in school-based learning support or inclusion.
• Experience developing IEPs, conducting learner observations, and implementing individualised interventions.
• Familiarity with the IB/PYP framework and inclusive education practices is an advantage.
• Strong observation, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Ability to translate learner needs into practical classroom strategies.
• Commitment to fostering learner independence, agency, and wellbeing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess learners who may benefit from additional learning support through classroom observations, informal assessments, and analysis of learner data.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs and individualised support plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
• Provide individual, small-group, and in-class support based on learner needs and identified goals.
• Collaborate with Homeroom and Subject Teachers to develop differentiated learning experiences, appropriate accommodations, and effective classroom strategies.
• Monitor learner progress and maintain clear documentation of interventions, goals, and outcomes.
• Support learners in developing academic, communication, social-emotional, executive functioning and functional skills, as appropriate to their individual profile.
• Work in partnership with parents and external professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, and Counsellors.
• Contribute to a culture of inclusion, learner agency, independence, and belonging, aligned with IB philosophy and approaches to learning.
• Support teacher capacity-building through sharing strategies, resources, and professional learning related to diverse learning needs.
• Participate in relevant parent meetings, case discussions, admissions observations, transition planning, and multidisciplinary meetings.
