The IB Diploma Programme (DP) Teacher plays a vital role in delivering engaging and rigorous academic instruction aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum framework. The teacher is responsible for developing inquiry‑based learning experiences, preparing students for internal and external assessments, and fostering international‑mindedness consistent with the IB philosophy.
Deliver high-quality, student‑centered lessons aligned with IB DP subject guides.
Plan and document units of inquiry in ManageBac or other IB‑approved platforms.
Foster inquiry, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding in students.
Integrate core IB elements such as Theory of Knowledge (TOK), CAS, and international‑mindedness into teaching.
Employ differentiation strategies to accommodate diverse learners.
Design and implement assessments as per IB DP criteria and standards.
Guide students in completing Internal Assessments (IA) and prepare them for External Assessments (EA).
Provide continuous, constructive feedback to support student growth.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Act as an academic and personal mentor for DP students.
Support students in research and Extended Essay guidance (if assigned).
Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with the IB DP Coordinator and subject colleagues.
Contribute to curriculum planning, moderation, and school‑wide initiatives.
Participate actively in IB workshops, professional learning, and reflective practices.
Participate in school events, assemblies, and CAS activities.
Uphold school policies, ethos, and commitment to the IB Learner Profile.
Support school development goals and initiatives beyond classroom teaching.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the relevant subject area.
Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed/M.Ed or equivalent).
Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience (IB DP experience preferred).
Familiarity with the IB philosophy and international education standards.
