Job summary

RGBSI in Kolkata seeks a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on applying Lean methodologies to optimize processes and boost overall efficiency on the shop floor.

You will lead Kaizen events, implement 5S, perform value stream mapping, and apply Six Sigma DMAIC to reduce defects. Collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams is essential to cut waste and cost.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and DMAIC methodology.
  • Experience in process optimization and waste reduction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes
  • Implement and sustain CI projects across the shop floor
  • Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks and eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events for process improvements
  • Implement and maintain 5S practices to ensure workplace organization and efficiency
  • Apply Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) for defect reduction and quality improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, and productivity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and improve overall operational efficiency
  • Train and guide shop floor teams on Lean tools and best practices

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in implementing Lean methodologies, optimizing processes, and improving overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement (CI) projects across the shop floor
  • Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify bottlenecks and eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events for process improvements
  • Implement and maintain 5S practices to ensure workplace organization and efficiency
  • Apply Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) for defect reduction and quality improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators such as OEE, cycle time, and productivity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance

Required Skills:

Preferred Skills:
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Experience in handling improvement projects in a manufacturing setup
  • Exposure to Industrial Engineering concepts (time study, line balancing)
