Job description

The Digital & Technology Vendor Management Office (VMO) is responsible for maximizing value from Delta's largest technology supplier relationships through governance, utilization optimization, performance management, and strategic vendor engagement.

As a Senior Vendor Management Analyst supporting the Software & SaaS portfolio, you will help govern a diverse portfolio of enterprise software providers, cloud platforms, AI technology vendors, infrastructure software partners, data platforms, observability tools, security applications, developer platforms, and productivity technologies.

These suppliers represent hundreds of millions of dollars in annual technology investment and are critical to Delta's digital transformation, AI strategy, software engineering productivity, operational effectiveness, and customer experience capabilities.

You will partner closely with technology leaders, product teams, architects, procurement, finance, engineering organizations, and supplier account teams to ensure software investments deliver measurable value to the business.

Role Overview

The Senior Vendor Management Analyst serves as a strategic analyst supporting supplier governance across Delta's Software & SaaS portfolio.

This role combines:

  • Vendor management
  • Business analysis
  • Software utilization analysis
  • Software acquisition deal structuring
  • Financial modeling
  • Executive communications
  • Technology strategy
  • Product adoption measurement
  • Vendor performance management

You will help build governance frameworks, develop supplier scorecards, evaluate consumption and utilization trends, quantify business value, support renewal planning, and identify opportunities to improve return on technology investments.

Success requires a combination of analytical thinking, business acumen, executive storytelling, and curiosity about how technology platforms create measurable business value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software Vendor Governance

  • Support governance of strategic software, SaaS, AI, data platform, security, and cloud software providers.
  • Develop supplier scorecards measuring utilization, adoption, business outcomes, financial performance, and strategic alignment.
  • Prepare executive-ready governance materials, quarterly business reviews, and leadership reporting.
  • Track supplier commitments, roadmap milestones, action items, and governance outcomes.
  • Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and strategic considerations requiring leadership attention.

Utilization & Value Realization

  • Analyze entitlement, consumption, adoption, and usage trends across enterprise software platforms.
  • Identify underutilized investments, shelfware risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Measure business value delivered relative to software investment.
  • Track software adoption and business outcome metrics.
  • Develop recommendations that improve utilization and return on investment.
  • The primary goal is ensuring software investments translate into measurable business value rather than simply tracking licenses and spend.

Renewal Strategy & Commercial Readiness

  • Support renewal planning and vendor strategy development.
  • Develop utilization-based business cases supporting renewal decisions.
  • Analyze growth trends, consumption patterns, commercial commitments, and contract performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, consolidation, renegotiation, and consumption alignment.
  • Partner with sourcing and procurement teams to strengthen renewal positions.

Outcome & KPI Development

  • Help define meaningful outcome-based measures for strategic technology platforms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish adoption, value realization, productivity, automation, and utilization metrics.
  • Track supplier progress against operational and strategic commitments.
  • Build reporting that connects technology investment with business outcomes.

Strategic Platform Reviews

  • Support governance activities for critical software, AI, cloud, and data platform investments.
  • Evaluate supplier roadmaps, technology direction, innovation priorities, and strategic alignment.
  • Analyze platform adoption trends, migration progress, implementation performance, and value realization.
  • Support executive reviews involving high-value and business-critical software relationships.
  • This includes helping leaders understand whether suppliers are delivering measurable business outcomes, not simply contractual obligations
