Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead / Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Zuora billing solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business growth. You will own end-to-end lifecycle, from requirements to deployment, mentor junior developers, and ensure robust integrations with Salesforce, payments gateways, and analytics tools.

The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, documentation, and timely production support to keep Zuora deployments running

Qualifications

• 5-15 years of IT experience with billing platform implementations
• Deep expertise in Zuora platform, Zuora Admin and APIs
• Experience building/modifying Zuora Invoice templates, payments, bill runs, and HTML templates
• Strong knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models and Subscription lifecycle
• Hands-on with Zuora Order line-items, invoicing and revenue cycles
• Experience with reconciliation and month-end close, bulk actions on multiple objects
• Proficiency in developer tools and Postman for API testing
• Experience integrating ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, data analytics tools, and tax systems (Salesforce, Zuora APIs)
• Familiarity with Zuora Workflow for automated processes
• Understanding admin features like Roles, Permissions, and Billing templates
• Ability to handle daily questions from business/finance/dev/QA teams
• Awareness of Zuora product updates and best practices

• Partner with customers to collect requirements, develop solutions, and provide effort estimates
• Work with Business Operations, Finance, and Business Analysts to identify and clarify business needs
• Create and improve workflows that align with business objectives
• Lead a small team, oversee deliverables, and maintain clear communication with all involved parties
• Handle system development, testing, and deployment independently with minimal supervision
• Diagnose and fix production issues and configuration problems tied to Zuora integrations and data flows promptly
• Apply performance enhancements to keep systems running at peak efficiency
• Assist the DevOps team with automating Zuora deployments and ensuring smooth production changes
• Create and update technical documentation covering Zuora implementations, design specs, test plans, and user guides
• Perform code reviews and offer technical mentorship to junior developers
• Train and assist end-users and stakeholders on Zuora features and recommended practices
• Attend regular stakeholder meetings to review project status, challenges, and resolutions

Requirements

• 5-15 years of IT experience, including a demonstrated history of implementing, sustaining, and enhancing Billing platforms
• Solid grasp of the Zuora platform, Zuora Admin, Zuora objects, and APIs
• Deep expertise in building and modifying Zuora Invoice templates, covering Payments, Bill runs, billing document posting, Invoice, CM, and HTML templates
• Strong knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models, and managing the Subscription lifecycle, including creation, updates, renewals, and cancellations
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Order line-item functionality, including setting up Order line-items and Invoice order line items
• Capability in reconciliation and troubleshooting for month-end closing, plus bulk create/update/delete actions across multiple objects
• Skilled use of developer tools and Postman
• Background in integrating ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, data analytics tools, and tax systems, including Salesforce, Zuora APIs, and Payment Gateways
• Comfortable working with Zuora Workflow to build new automated processes and refine existing ones
• Strong understanding of Admin features and configurations, such as Roles, Permissions, and Billing templates
• Capable of addressing daily questions and analysis requests from business, finance, dev, QA, and other teams
• Awareness of Zuora product updates, industry trends, and best practices to maintain optimal system performance
