Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Zuora billing platform and APIs.

• Proficient in building and modifying Zuora invoice templates.
• Familiarity with Product Catalog, Charge Models, and subscription lifecycle.
• Hands-on with Zuora Order line items and month-end reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of Postman and developer tools.
• Ability to respond to ad-hoc analysis requests from cross-functional teams.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Lead / Senior Software Engineer to build, deploy, and refine Zuora billing solutions, working alongside various teams to support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to collect requirements, architect solutions, and provide effort estimates
• Work with Business Operations, Finance, and Business Analysts to capture and interpret business needs
• Build and refine workflows that align with business objectives
• Lead a small team, oversee deliverables, and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders
• Handle system development, testing, and deployment independently with minimal supervision
• Diagnose and fix production issues and configuration problems tied to Zuora integrations and data flows promptly
• Apply performance enhancements to keep systems running efficiently
• Assist the DevOps team with automating Zuora deployments and ensuring smooth production releases
• Create and update technical documentation covering Zuora implementations, design specs, test plans, and user guides
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers on technical matters
• Train and assist end-users and stakeholders on Zuora features and recommended practices
• Join regular stakeholder meetings to review project status, address issues, and propose solutions

Requirements

• 5-15 years of IT experience, demonstrating success in deploying, sustaining, and enhancing Billing platforms
• Solid grasp of the Zuora platform, including Zuora Admin, Zuora objects, and APIs
• Strong background in building and modifying Zuora Invoice templates, covering Payments, Bill runs, billing document posting, and Invoice, CM & HTML templates
• Working knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models, and managing the Subscription lifecycle (creation, updates, renewals, cancellations)
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Order line-item functionality, including generating Order line-items and Invoice order line items
• Capable of handling reconciliations and troubleshooting during month-end close, plus performing bulk create/update/delete actions across multiple objects
• Skilled in using developer tools and Postman
• Background in integrating Zuora with ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, analytics tools, and tax systems, including Salesforce, Zuora APIs, and Payment Gateways
• Comfortable working with Zuora Workflow to build new automations and improve existing ones
• Strong understanding of Admin-level features and configurations, such as Roles, Permissions, and Billing templates
• Able to respond to ongoing questions and analysis requests from business, finance, dev, QA, and other teams
• Stay current with Zuora product releases, industry trends, and best practices to maintain peak system performance
