Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead/Senior Business Analyst – Insurance with strong Scrum Master responsibilities to bridge business and tech teams across the insurance value chain. You will lead requirements analysis, Agile delivery, and stakeholder engagement to drive measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6-15 years of IT experience with BA/PM/SM roles.
• 8+ years as Business Analyst, Agile PM, Scrum Master, or Delivery Lead.
• Experience in the insurance domain (Claims, Underwriting, Billing, Policy).
• Proficiency in writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on delivery in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
• Knowledge of SDLC, testing lifecycle, and release management.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
• Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify goals, challenges, and regulatory limitations across the insurance value chain.
• Gather, evaluate, and record requirements through workshops, interviews, story mapping, and data analysis.
• Convert requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specs, and wireframes when needed.
• Manage and enhance the product backlog alongside the Product Owner to ensure clarity and testability.
• Facilitate UAT by preparing test scenarios and coordinating business users.
• Establish and monitor business KPIs such as cycle time and NPS improvements.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, and Reviews.
• Oversee delivery scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, RAID logs, and release milestones.
• Coordinate across teams to maintain consistent delivery and communication.
• Provide status updates to leadership via dashboards and executive summaries.
• Serve as liaison between business and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding.

We are looking for a Lead/Senior Business Analyst – Insurance with expertise in Scrum Master responsibilities to connect business and technical teams throughout the insurance value chain, leading requirements analysis, Agile delivery, and stakeholder engagement to deliver measurable business results.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify goals, challenges, and regulatory or process limitations across the insurance value chain (e.g., Policy, Billing, Claims, Underwriting, CRM/Distribution)
• Gather, evaluate, and record requirements through workshops, interviews, story mapping, process mapping, and data analysis
• Convert requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows (AS-IS/TO-BE), functional specifications, and wireframes when needed
• Manage and enhance the product backlog alongside the Product Owner or business leads to guarantee clarity, completeness, and testability
• Facilitate UAT by preparing test scenarios, coordinating business users, managing defects, and ensuring traceability from requirements to results
• Establish and monitor business KPIs (e.g., cycle time reduction, claim leakage control, STP rates, NPS improvement)
• Lead Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
• Oversee delivery scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, RAID logs, and release milestones
• Coordinate across teams (engineering, QA, data, architecture, operations, vendors) to maintain consistent delivery and communication
• Provide clear status updates to leadership and stakeholders through dashboards, weekly reports, and executive summaries
• Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding of requirements and constraints
• Work with architects and subject matter experts on integration requirements (e.g., PAS, claims systems, billing, document management, external data providers)

Requirements

• 6-15 years of overall IT experience
• 8+ years of combined experience as a Business Analyst, Agile PM, Scrum Master, or Delivery Lead
• Experience within the insurance domain, covering one or more areas such as Claims, Underwriting, Policy Administration, Billing, Reinsurance, or Distribution
• Proficiency in writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, along with the ability to guide other BAs through this process
• Hands‑on experience delivering projects within Agile, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks
• Knowledge of SDLC, testing lifecycle, and release management
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities
• Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps
