Job description

Role Summary

The Lead QA/QC Engineer is responsible for overseeing all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across multiple projects to ensure compliance with client specifications, contractual obligations, and AMC’s integrated management system. This role leads the QA/QC team in planning, coordinating, and implementing project-specific quality requirements, and ensures alignment with international standards such as ISO 9001, API, and IMCA. The Lead QA/QC Engineer acts as a key interface between management, engineering, and site teams—promoting a strong quality culture and continuous improvement across all AMC operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and implement company and project-specific QA/QC plans, ITPs, and procedures.
• Manage and supervise QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and coordinators across various projects.
• Ensure effective implementation of AMC’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards.
• Coordinate and lead internal/external quality audits, including client and third-party audits.
• Review and approve supplier/subcontractor quality documentation (procedures, ITPs, WPS/PQRs, etc.).
• Verify quality performance through inspections, surveillance, and reporting systems.
• Manage non-conformance control, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
• Lead quality planning during tender, engineering, and execution stages in coordination with Project Managers.
• Ensure welding, coating, and NDT activities comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Interface with clients for QA/QC matters, responding to NCRs, and ensuring closure of quality issues.
• Provide mentoring, training, and performance evaluation for QA/QC personnel.
• Coordinate with HSE, Engineering, and Operations to maintain integrated compliance under AMC’s management systems.
• Participate in management review meetings and contribute to company-wide continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related Engineering discipline.
• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification.

Desirable:

• CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, or equivalent certification.
• ASNT Level II (RT, UT, MT, PT).
• Training in ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / IMCA quality integration (preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in oil & gas, offshore, or marine EPC projects, with at least 5 years in a lead/supervisory position.
• Proven experience with welding, NDT, coatings, and materials inspection.
• Familiarity with EPC project documentation, audit cycles, and client quality systems.

• Provide QA/QC inputs during tender reviews and project kick-off meetings.
• Liaise with clients and third parties for all quality correspondence and technical clarifications.
• Drive standardization of QA/QC processes and alignment with AMC’s QHSE Management System.
