About the Role

The Lead Production Planning & Supply Chain Excellence is responsible for driving end-to-end planning excellence across manufacturing operations, including production planning, capacity management, inventory optimization, customer order fulfillment, dispatch coordination, and supply chain synchronization. The role acts as the central planning authority connecting Sales, Production, SCM, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Logistics, and Customer Service functions to ensure efficient execution of customer commitments while maximizing plant productivity and profitability. The role will work closely with Business Leadership, Plant Heads, and Functional Leaders to ensure operational performance aligns with customer demand, business objectives, and organizational growth while developing scalable planning systems, governance mechanisms, and high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Operations Leadership

• Develop and institutionalize world-class Production Planning & Control (PPC) systems across manufacturing operations.
• Design, document, and implement planning SOPs, governance frameworks, review mechanisms, and planning standards.
• Lead end-to-end planning functions covering production scheduling, inventory planning, capacity planning, dispatch planning, and order fulfillment.
• Establish structured planning governance to improve visibility, accountability, and execution discipline.
• Drive planning automation and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain functions.
• Ensure seamless coordination between Sales, Production, SCM, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Logistics, and Finance.

Production Planning & Scheduling Excellence

• Lead monthly, weekly, and daily production planning across all manufacturing lines.
• Ensure optimum utilization of BOPP, BOPET, Metallizing, Slitting, Rewinding, and Packing capacities.
• Develop production schedules aligned with demand forecasts, customer commitments, and inventory objectives.
• Optimize machine loading, sequencing, and changeover planning.
• Monitor plan adherence and drive corrective actions to improve execution efficiency.
• Improve schedule stability while minimizing disruptions and urgent production changes.

Capacity Planning & Manufacturing Excellence

• Develop short-term and long‑term capacity plans aligned with business growth requirements.
• Analyze capacity utilization trends and identify bottlenecks.
• Drive capacity enhancement initiatives and productivity improvement programs.
• Support expansion projects, debottlenecking initiatives, and commissioning of new manufacturing lines.
• Improve overall equipment utilization and manufacturing efficiency.

Inventory & Working Capital Optimization

• Lead raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory planning.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance customer service and working capital objectives.
• Reduce slow‑moving and non‑moving inventory.
• Improve inventory turnover ratios and inventory accuracy.
• Establish inventory governance mechanisms and inventory review processes.

Customer Order Fulfillment & Supply Chain Coordination

• Ensure timely conversion of customer orders into executable production plans.
• Drive OTIF (On‑Time‑In‑Full) delivery performance.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service teams to align production priorities with customer commitments.
• Ensure seamless coordination between procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics functions.
• Lead dispatch planning for domestic and export customers.
• Improve customer service levels through proactive planning and execution.

Planning Systems, Analytics & Digital Excellence

• Lead SAP S4 HANA planning processes and master data governance.
• Strengthen MRP effectiveness and planning parameter management.
• Develop planning dashboards, KPIs, and business intelligence tools.
• Drive data‑based decision‑making across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
• Improve visibility through real‑time planning and reporting systems.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Reduce planning‑related production losses and inefficiencies.
• Improve forecasting accuracy and planning effectiveness.
• Minimize machine changeovers through optimized planning.
• Lead cross‑functional improvement projects focused on productivity, inventory, and customer service.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Build and lead a high‑performing PPC, Planning, Inventory, and Dispatch organization.
• Establish structured review mechanisms, performance scorecards, and accountability frameworks.
• Develop planning talent and succession pipelines.
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and operational discipline.
• Mentor future leaders within manufacturing and supply chain functions.

Operational Performance & Analytics

• Develop PPC dashboards and MIS for Business Leadership.
• Monitor production planning, inventory, dispatch, customer fulfillment, and capacity utilization KPIs.
• Identify bottlenecks, planning gaps, and operational inefficiencies through analytics.
• Drive data‑based corrective actions and continuous improvement programs.

Experience, Skills & Attributes

• 15-20 years of experience in PPC, Manufacturing Planning, Supply Chain, Operations Excellence, or Plant Operations.
• Strong experience in BOPP, BOPET, CPP Films, Flexible Packaging, Plastic Processing, FMCG, or Process Manufacturing.
• Proven capability in leading large cross‑functional manufacturing and planning teams.
• Deep expertise in Production Planning, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain Management.
• Strong exposure to SAP S4 HANA, MRP Systems, and Advanced Analytics.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience in designing scalable planning systems, governance frameworks, and operating models.
• Ability to balance customer expectations, manufacturing capabilities, and business priorities.
