Job summary

Shadowfax Technologies is seeking a Manager Compliance to lead statutory, labour, payroll, licensing, and regulatory compliance across the organization. You will ensure timely adherence to laws, maintain statutory records, and coordinate with government authorities and internal teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating labour and payroll compliance, audits, licences, registrations, and renewals across multiple locations. The role requires strong stakeholder management and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 5+ years of experience in Labour, Statutory, HR, Payroll, or Corporate Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in labour audits, payroll compliance, contract labour compliance, registrations, licences, and renewals.

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, including wages, hours, benefits, and registrations.
  • Coordinate payroll compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, and other regulations.
  • Plan and manage labour compliance audits and close observations.
  • Handle licences, registrations, renewals, and renewals across locations.
  • Maintain statutory registers and documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure company-wide compliance.

Role Overview - Manager, Compliance

We are looking for an experienced Manager Compliance to lead and manage statutory, labour, payroll, licensing, and regulatory compliance across the organization. The role will be responsible for ensuring timely adherence to applicable laws, maintaining statutory records, managing audits, and coordinating with internal teams, government authorities, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Labour Law Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, including wages, working hours, employee benefits, social security, registers, returns, notices, and statutory requirements.
  • Payroll Compliance: Partner with HR and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely compliance related to PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, TDS, minimum wages, and other applicable payroll regulations.
  • Labour Compliance Audits: Plan, coordinate, and manage internal and external labour compliance audits; identify gaps and drive timely closure of audit observations.
  • Contract Labour Compliance: Manage compliance requirements under applicable contract labour regulations, including contractor documentation, registrations/licences, statutory records, wage compliance, and periodic audits.
  • Licences & Registrations: Manage end-to-end registration, application, renewal, amendment, and maintenance of statutory licences and certificates across locations.
  • Property & Establishment Registrations: Coordinate property-related registrations and statutory requirements, including Shops & Establishments, trade licences, local registrations, and other location-specific approvals.
  • Renewals & Compliance Calendar: Maintain a centralized compliance tracker/calendar and ensure all licences, registrations, returns, payments, and renewals are completed within prescribed timelines.
  • Statutory Audits & Inspections: Coordinate with labour departments, government authorities, auditors, consultants, and other regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
  • Documentation & Record Management: Ensure proper maintenance of statutory registers, licences, returns, challans, notices, certificates, agreements, and other compliance documentation.
  • Compliance Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks, assess gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize legal and financial exposure.
  • Vendor/Partner Compliance: Establish compliance checks for manpower agencies, contractors, and other relevant vendors and ensure adherence to statutory obligations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Operations, Admin, Procurement, and Business teams to ensure organization-wide compliance.
  • Regulatory Updates: Track changes in labour and other applicable regulations and ensure timely communication and implementation of new compliance requirements.
  • MIS & Reporting: Prepare periodic compliance dashboards, management reports, audit status reports, and risk summaries for senior leadership.
What You Bring
  • 4 to 5+ years of experience in Labour, Statutory, HR, Payroll, or Corporate Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in labour audits, payroll compliance, contract labour compliance, registrations, licences, and renewals.
  • Experience managing compliance across multiple locations will be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Minimum Wages, Contract Labour, Shops & Establishments, and related statutory requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple compliance requirements and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with government authorities, external consultants, auditors, and statutory agencies.
