Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited [Automotive and Farm Equipment Business] is seeking an experienced automotive engineer to design steering and front axle systems for light commercial vehicle platforms. The role includes leading a team, coordinating with CAE/CDMM/validation, and driving DFMEA and DVP activities to meet QCDW targets.

You will interact with suppliers for part design, contribute to technology roadmaps, and ensure compliance with homologation and regulatory requirements across programs.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years of experience in steering/front axle systems for commercial vehicles.
• Bachelor or Master in engineering (B.E./M.E. in Mechanical).
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop steering system for light commercial vehicle platform.
• Design and develop front axle system for light commercial vehicle platform.
• Deliver steering and front wheel end aggregates as per QCDW for projects.
• Resolve field and manufacturing concerns.
• Lead a team of engineers.
• Perform DFMEA, design reviews, DVP generation and analysis (G8D).
• Ensure vehicle and component level DVP requirements.
• Interact with CAE, CDMM, validation for aggregate development.
• Coordinate with suppliers for proprietary part design and development.
• Root cause analysis and concern resolution.
• Ensure awareness of homologation and regulatory requirements.
• Build technology roadmap for aggregates and execute ideas.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Design and development of Steering system for light commercial vehicle platform.
2. Design and development of Front axle system for light commercial vehicle platform.
3. Deliver Steering and Front wheel end aggregates as per QCDW (Quality, cost, delivery, weight) for projects.
4. Resolve field / Mfg concerns
5. Leading a team of people
6. DFMEA, Design review, DVP generation, analysis using G8D technique
7. Vehicle level and component level DVP requirements
8. Interact with CAE, CDMM, validation for aggregate development
9. Interact with suppliers for proprietary part design and development
10. Root cause analysis and concern resolution.
11. Aware of Homologation and regulatory requirements.
12. Build technology roadmap on the above aggregates and execute potential ideas
