Job Summary
Purpose of the role: As a Lead Engineer for Suspension, you will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of the Suspension systems of a segment of our products (2W), ensuring they meet performance, safety, and cost targets. You will work cross-functionally under the guidance of Suspension System Chief Engineer with design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance the structural integrity and overall riding experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Suspension systems in a segment delivering New Products, addressing problems in current products and working on relevant technologies.
- Define technical requirements and ensure designs meet performance, durability, weight and cost targets. Co-ordinate effectively to deploy mutually agreed QCD requirements on Suspension systems, steer alignments and discussions within and between CoCs, Quality, Purchasing, Service, Production and Aftersales.
- Review test procedures and results (Suspension performance, durability, Noise) and oversee the validation process.
- Participate in design reviews, update and maintain design guidelines, SoPs, DFMEA related to Suspension systems.
- Mentor the new engineers in Suspension system for their career goals and objectives
- Lead Problem solving initiatives Value Engineering initiatives on Suspension systems across product life cycles.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and drive technical decisions in quick time.
- Develop standardised solutions across platform minimising variety in Suspension systems.
- Ensure compliance with global safety and regulatory standards.
- Internal and External Interactions: Internal - Design, Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Service, Production and Aftersales teams; External - Suppliers.

Qualifications
- Education Qualification: -BTech or MTech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Advanced Qualifications are an advantage.
- Required Experience: 12-14 years in Automotive RD field. Experience in Chassis System Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years in Suspension system Design development.
