Job summary

BMW TechWorks India Private Limited seeks a Lead CAD Engineer with BIW experience. You will lead CATIA V5 driven design for BIW components, ensure robust parametric models, and coordinate interfaces across assemblies. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, with knowledge of ECN and release processes.

German-speaking is an added advantage; familiarity with PRISMA database and Teamcenter will be beneficial for data management and publication tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in BIW/Body In White tooling and closures.
• Strong CATIA V5 skills with GSD/Part Design/Drafting and DMU.
• Structured, parametric CAD modeling with organized tree structures.
• Good communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAD design for BIW components (hood, front end, tailgate, fender, bumpers).
• Participate in integration meetings and coordinate interfaces.
• Manage ECN and release processes; maintain data in Teamcenter.
• Ensure accuracy of CAD data with tolerances and component IDs.

Job description

- Should have worked on Body In White and Closures parts (Hood, Front End, Tailgate & Fender & Bumpers) as a Lead Engineer.
- Should have the experience creating Solid Modelling and Surface modelling Catia V5.
- Should have an experience in building CAD models with organised tree structure including parametric modelling
- Should have very good communication and presentation skills
- German speaking is an added advantage.
- Should have hands on experience in ECN, Release management and Teamcenter.

Strong expertise in CAD design with a focus on structured and parametric modeling

Experience in virtual vehicle development and understanding of mechanical relationships

Knowledge of common manufacturing methods for Plastic and Metal components.

Ability to manage and maintain data and documentation in accordance with BMW standards

Must have technical skills.

Very good skills in CATIA V5, especially in Generative Shape Design, Part Design, Drafting, and Digital Mockup

Familiarity with different manufacturing technologies for Metal Parts (Stamping & molding parts)

Understanding of fixation parts and assembly processes

Experience participating in integration meetings and interface coordination

Must have technical skills
