Job summary

BMW TechWorks India Private Limited seeks a skilled Design Engineer for underbody and upperbody development in Pune. You will craft CAD concepts, validate designs, and work on BIW packages for serial production.

You will apply CATIA V5 design methods, contribute to design releases, and collaborate across international teams to deliver manufacturable components. Fluency in English is expected.

Qualifications

• Min. 5 years of experience in automotive industry or equivalent CAD technician background.
• Experience in constructing/designing components in serial development phase.
• Proven CAD packaging and layout creation using CATIA V5.
• Knowledge of design, manufacturing of sheet metal, extrusions, welds, rivets.

Responsibilities

• Construct/design the underbody and upper body components in the serial development phase.
• Develop CAD packaging and layout for BIW underbody and upper body concepts.
• Create 2D/3D CAD mockups and eng create designs that are manufacturable and approvable.
• Lead and collaborate in an international, interdisciplinary environment with an agile mindset.

What should you bring along

• Min. 5 years of experience in automotive industry or equivalent qualification as CAD technician with relevant experience
• Experience and deepen knowledge about Constructing/designing the respective range of components in the serial development phase.
• Proven experience with CAD packaging,layout creation using CATIA V5 .
• Knowledge about Design , Manufacturing of sheetmetal , extrustions , welds, Rivets parts .
• Extensive knowledge of design release system .
• Knowledge of ? Automotive Standards
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills , with the ability to lead and mentor .
• Knowledge of BMW work environments is advantageous ( PRISMA, NextOne , PQM, IRAM )
• Business fluent knowledge of English ( written and spoken)
