Purpose/Objective
The Lead – Architecture & Master Planning will be responsible for leading the architectural design, master planning, and coordination of large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, institutional, and township developments.
The role involves managing design consultants, ensuring alignment with project objectives, driving design excellence, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders from concept development through project execution.
Key Responsibilities of Role
- Master Planning - Lead the preparation and review of master plans for large-scale developments, townships, mixed-use projects, and institutional campuses.
- - Ensure optimal land utilization, circulation planning, infrastructure integration, and future expansion provisions.
- - Coordinate with urban planners, landscape consultants, traffic consultants, and infrastructure teams.
- - Evaluate design alternatives and recommend solutions that enhance user experience and project value.
- Architectural Design Management - Oversee architectural design development from concept stage to detailed design and GFC drawings.
- - Review and approve architectural drawings, design reports, material specifications, and construction documentation.
- - Ensure design compliance with project requirements, statutory norms, applicable codes, and sustainability objectives.
- - Maintain consistency with approved design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
- Consultant & Stakeholder Management - Manage architects, master planning consultants, interior designers, landscape consultants, and other specialized agencies.
- - Coordinate with structural, MEPF, sustainability, traffic, signage, and technology consultants.
- - Conduct design review meetings and provide timely guidance for project progress.
- - Present design proposals and project updates to senior management and leadership teams.
- Project Coordination & Execution Support - Work closely with project management and execution teams to address design-related issues.
- - Review shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups, and value engineering proposals.
- - Support resolution of site coordination challenges and ensure adherence to approved designs.
- - Monitor consultant deliverables, project milestones, and design schedules.
- Statutory Approvals - Coordinate with consultants and authorities for obtaining required approvals.
- - Review submissions related to building permissions, environmental approvals, fire approvals, and other statutory requirements.
- - Ensure compliance with local development regulations and applicable standards.
- Design Quality & Innovation - Drive innovation in architecture, master planning, sustainability, and user experience.
- - Benchmark global design trends and best practices.
- - Promote efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable design solutions.
- - Identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising design quality.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of architectural design, urban planning, and development regulations.
- ,Knowledge of building codes, NBC, fire norms, sustainability standards, and statutory approval processes.
- ,Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, BIM platforms, and MS Office.
- ,Familiarity with GIS and planning tools will be an added advantage
Qualifications and Experience
- Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in architecture from a recognized institution.
- - Registered Architect with Council of Architecture (preferred).
- - Additional qualifications in Urban Planning or Master Planning will be an advantage.
- Experience - 18+ years of relevant experience in architecture and master planning.
- - Experience in large-scale township, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, institutional, or residential developments.
- - Experience managing reputed architectural and master planning consultants.
- - Exposure to projects from concept planning through execution.
