Job summary

Maersk in India is seeking a FinOps/Freight billing professional to manage daily billing operations, invoicing, and exception handling. The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, timely responses to stakeholder queries, and contributing to KPI achievement.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in FinOps or SCM, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication. Immediate joiner, onsite at Thane, India with global operational exposure.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
• 1–3 years of experience in FinOps/Finance in freight forwarding or SCM.
• Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Understanding of FINOPS billing processes and operations.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle and complete daily FinOps tasks per IOPs; ensure service quality.
• Adhere to SOPs and IOPs during daily operations.
• Accrue, invoice, and manage exceptions in billing files.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness within SLAs.
• Resolve email requests within defined timelines to delight customers.
• Contribute to achieving individual and team KPIs.
• Provide value-added business solutions through process understanding.
• Identify process improvements and propose solutions within scope.
• Share best practices with teammates and participate in team engagement.

Ensure delivery of value proposition to all customer segments through on time and correct invoicing of jobs to customers, including internal customers (ICBs) and correct and soft/hard close jobs on time.

Key Responsibility: -

• Has responsibility for handling and completing daily FinOps tasks in line with process IOP’s and ensure quality of service in always maintained.
• Adhere to process and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) during daily operation.
• Accrue, invoiced and do exception management of billing files
• Make sure accuracy and timeliness within the SLAs are met
• Able to resolve requests via email in a manner that delights customers within timeline.
• Carry out all activities in a manner that will contribute to the achievement of individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Have good business knowledge / process understanding to provide a value add to the customers through effective business solutions.
• Find opportunity of process improvement and provide corresponded solution within scope.
• Share good practice with teammate to improve together.
• Participant in team engagement activities.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Participate in and contribute to calls and discussions with Business Partners, along with the supervisor.
• Maintain timely and professional interactions with Business Partners and Stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other teams within the GSC to achieve business and organizational goals.

Other Responsibilities:

• Adhere to return to office policies, shift scheduling, leave planning, overtime, backup planning, and comply with staff policies.
• Identify, document, and appropriately manage all major risks.
• Actively participate in relevant business contingency testing and support other GSCs during contingency procedures.
• Strictly adhere to APM-M Group culture, values, and reputation, ensuring compliance with APMM Group and CB policies.

Requirement:

• Graduate, ideally Finance and Accounting
• Need to have previous experience in Freight forwarding or SCM along with FINOPS/Financial experience. While both are preferred, having either of them is a must.
• Have knowledge on accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
• Have knowledge for operations to have full understanding of FINOPS billing
• 1 to 3 Years of experience
• Good working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Time management skill: ability to handle multi-task and manage challenging deadlines.
• Good communication & interpersonal skill and should be able to build good working relationship.
• Good stakeholder management skills and experience.
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
