Job summary

Career Tree Hr Solutions seeks a skilled Tool Room operator to manage daily tool room operations in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 19443. You will handle material receipt, tool assembly, traceability, and inventory control while supporting production with optimal cutting tools and parameter guidance.

The role requires ITI Machinist or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years of tool room experience, and familiarity with Zoller, Kardex, and shrink-fit processes.

Qualifications

• ITI Machinist or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a tool room for cutting tools (turbine/generator).
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with tool inventory systems.
• Knowledge of cutting tool assembly, tooling accessories and programming basics.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily tool room operations in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.
• Follow EHS procedures and nuclear safety awareness on site.
• Review machining documents such as SOPs, drawings and tool sheets.
• Receive material, ensure inward entry, and maintain tool inventory records.
• Ensure traceability and proper tool assembly per tool sheets on CNC tooling.
• Provide on-job support for production issues related to cutting parameters.
• Maintain logbooks, TMGP software entries, and daily communication across shifts.
• Support machine shop team and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Perform the daily operations of Tool room in line with ISO:90001 & ISO:19443 along with SQDC approach to achieve shift wise target as per Machining inputs & standard work. Contributes to team efforts in accomplishing the organizational goals.

Your Role:

• Follow site EHS procedure and nuclear safety awareness.
• Report any stop work or concerns related to EHS & quality.
• Understanding of nuclear safety culture and ITNS-I & A (Important to Nuclear Safety- Item & Activity)
• Review and understanding of machining documents like MOPs, SOPs, drawings, KSL, program files, Tool sheets and FMEAs.
• Receive material from suppliers after primary inspection.
• Ensure inward of received material in Tool Inventory software.
• Create location of material and put it in designated place.
• Ensure traceability of material on daily basis
• Perform tool assembly as per tool sheet and ensure timely availability of tools on machine.
• Ensure error proof assembly and check dimensions required as per tool sheet on zoller machine.
• On job support during issues in production like cutting parameters, tool deflections, vibrations, finishing issues, tool life etc.
• Inventory management and identify shortage of routine items and inform for repeat order.
• Maintain tool issue record in logbook and TMGP software.
• Ensure smooth communication between shifts through daily logbook.
• Maintain tool breakage records.
• Knowledge of usage of measuring instruments, error check & its application.
• Knowledge of cutting tools & its application, trouble shooting of machine and understanding of CNC program & manual program.
• Lean approach likes 5s, TPM, Kaizen etc. and maintain safe & clean workplace.
• Teamwork and Coordination with fellow operator team & cross functional team for uninterrupted Production.
• Support machine shop team

Preferred candidate profile

Basic Qualifications(requirements):

• ITI Machinist / Diploma in Mechanical engineering
• Min 2-5-year experience in Tool room for cutting tools (Turbine/Generator)
• Basic computer skills
• Detailed knowledge of Zoller, Kardex, Shrink fit machine.
• Knowledge of cutting tool assembly and accessories.
• Knowledge of cutting tool applications and basic of programming or machine operation.
