Job summary

Coforge in Bengaluru seeks an experienced L3 production support engineer to manage critical applications and resolve complex incidents. You will perform RCA, implement preventive measures, and monitor health and performance across systems.

Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Business teams to drive incident resolution, releases, and enhancements using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful APIs while contributing to automation and operational excellence.

Job description

• Provide Level 3 (L3) support for critical production applications and services.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and non-production issues within SLA timelines.
• Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring incidents.
• Monitor application health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying risks and bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Business teams for incident resolution.
• Participate in production release activities, deployment support, and post-release validation.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy application enhancements, bug fixes, and new features.
• Analyze existing applications and implement improvements for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop automation utilities and scripts to reduce operational effort and improve efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and development best practices.
• Perform hands-on development using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Analyze application logs, system behavior, and database activities to diagnose complex issues.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems involving APIs, databases, middleware, and messaging services.
• Implement permanent fixes and code changes for production incidents.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve critical technical challenges.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system test cases.
• Ensure quality delivery through rigorous testing and validation processes.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Validate production fixes and application releases.

Technical Leadership

• Lead technical investigations and major incident resolution activities.
• Mentor junior developers and support engineers.
• Drive best practices around coding, debugging, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical recommendations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Business, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams.
• Communicate incident updates, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support audit, compliance, and operational review activities.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Create and maintain operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, support manuals, and technical documentation.
• Document incident resolutions, RCA findings, and best practices.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams.
