Job summary

InterviewPanel seeks a hardware design engineer (junior to lead) to design and develop complex electronics and power supplies for diverse products. You will work on digital/analog circuits, MCU-based designs, and collaborate with PCB teams across stages from schematics to board bring-up.

The role requires hands-on testing, simulations, and adherence to safety/EMI considerations, with exposure to ECAD tools like Altium, KiCad, and Mentor Graphics.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. with specialization in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience in Embedded C software and Matlab is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and develop electronics including power electronics, AC-DC/DC-DC converters and power supplies.
• Develop digital and analog circuits and MCU-based designs.
• Experience with board bring-up, prototype testing and troubleshooting.
• Provide circuit simulations using PSPICE/LT SPICE with detailed design calculations.
• Create schematics using ECAD tools (Altium, Mentor, KiCad) and collaborate with PCB engineers.
• Design multilayer boards and work on board stack-up concepts.
• Plan, analyze, and support compliance testing and manufacturing of electronic boards/products.
• Collaborate with mechanical, industrial engineering, and sales teams to meet targets and costs.

Job Description: Junior/Senior/Lead Hardware Design Engineer

Experience: 2-8 years

Job Location: Bangalore and Pune

Mandatory:

• Design, simulate, and develop a variety of Electronics. power electronic circuits, including AC-DC, DC-DC converters, power supplies.
• Design experience on Digital circuits, Analog circuits and microcontroller-based design.
• Experience/exposure on board bring-up testing, prototype testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience/exposure on Circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE, LT SPICE and able provide analysis along with detailed design calculations in MathCAD or similar
• Develop schematics using ECAD tools such as Altium, Mentor Graphics, KiCAD etc. and collaborate with PCB engineers on layout development.
• Designs multilayer boards and worked on board stack up products
• Planning, Design, Analysis, Compliance / Precompliance Testing and Manufacturing of electronic board(s), product(s) with system understanding.
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g. mechatronics, internal and external industrial engineering, technical sales towards customer) to ensure quality, to fulfill the requirements and to reach target costs.
• Provide life cycle analysis of electronic components and suggest alternate for replacement
• Create hardware documentation e.g. BOM, design and test specifications
• Perform activities after serial launch, e.g. change and obsolescence management.
• Good understanding of variety of electronic components and their function
• Understanding of PCB layout and able to perform Layout review

Experience and Qualifications:

• B.Tech/M.Tech with specialization in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience in Embedded C software and Matlab will be a big plus.

Desirable

• Carryout FMEA/DFMEA analysis.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and safety standards like UL, VDE, IEC, or BIS.
• Is responsible for product safety
• Requirement Engineering Certifications like CPRE
