Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer / Fresher to join our design team. The candidate will be involved in various stages of interior design projects, from initial concept development and space planning to design development, drawings, material selection, site coordination, and project execution.

The role will provide hands‑on exposure to the complete interior design process across residential, commercial, hospitality, and other projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Concept Development

Assist in developing interior design concepts based on the project brief, client requirements, and design direction.

Develop mood boards, material palettes, colour schemes, and look‑and‑feel presentations.

Assist with design development and preparation of design proposals.

Research design trends, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, hardware, and other products.

Assist in developing furniture, ceiling, flooring, wall, lighting, and other interior design details.

2. Space Planning & Design Development

Assist in preparing space plans and furniture layouts.

Understand and incorporate functional, ergonomic, aesthetic, and circulation requirements.

Develop detailed layouts and design solutions as directed by the senior designer.

Coordinate different design elements to ensure a cohesive overall design.

3. Drawings & Documentation

Prepare and modify AutoCAD drawings including:

• Furniture layouts
• Flooring layouts
• Reflected ceiling plans
• Electrical layouts
• Lighting layouts
• Wall elevations
• Detailed elevations
• Sections
• Joinery drawings
• Furniture drawings
• Toilet and kitchen details
• Other construction/detail drawings as required

Maintain accurate dimensions, annotations, levels, specifications, and drawing references.

Assist in preparing detailed working drawings and construction documentation.

Ensure drawings are updated based on site conditions and design revisions.

Maintain proper drawing files, revisions, and documentation.

4. 3D Visualization & Presentations

Assist in preparing 3D models, renders, views, and presentations.

Develop design presentations and client-facing visual material.

Make design revisions based on feedback from senior designers and clients.

Maintain consistency between 2D drawings, 3D models, material specifications, and final design intent.

5. Materials & Product Selection

Research and shortlist suitable materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, sanitaryware, hardware, fabrics, accessories, and other products.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for samples, catalogues, specifications, and quotations.

Maintain material boards and finish schedules.

Assist in preparing material and product specifications for projects.

Keep track of samples and approved materials.

6. Site Visits & Execution Coordination

Attend site visits along with the senior designer/project team.

Take and record site measurements and existing-condition information.

Assist in checking dimensions and site conditions against drawings.

Understand the execution of interior elements and construction details.

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, fabricators, and other site teams under the direction of the senior designer.

Assist in identifying site discrepancies and communicating them to the design team.

Follow up on design‑related site requirements and pending items.

Assist in ensuring that the design intent is maintained during execution.

7. Vendor & Contractor Coordination

Communicate with vendors, contractors, fabricators, and suppliers regarding drawings, materials, finishes, and design requirements.

Share relevant drawings and specifications with vendors as instructed.

Assist in obtaining quotations, samples, shop drawings, and technical information.

Review vendor/shop drawings against the design intent and flag discrepancies to the senior designer.

Coordinate revisions and follow‑ups with relevant parties.

8. Client Coordination

Assist the senior designer during client meetings and presentations.

Prepare drawings, presentations, samples, and other material required for client discussions.

Record design decisions, revisions, and feedback.

Incorporate approved client feedback into drawings and presentations.

Maintain professional communication with clients and project stakeholders.

9. Project Coordination & Follow‑Up

Maintain project trackers, drawing registers, material schedules, and other project documentation.

Track pending drawings, approvals, samples, quotations, and site requirements.

Coordinate internally with the design team to meet project deadlines.

Assist in ensuring that deliverables are issued on time.

Maintain organized project folders and documentation.
