Job summary

Sted Archbuild is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to support the design team on commercial interior fit-out projects. You will assist in concept development, layouts, drawings, and documentation while maintaining standards and timelines.

The role requires familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and MS Office, with 0–2 years of experience and internship exposure in workplace design being preferred. This is an on-site Mumbai opportunity that offers growth in a dynamic studio environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in interior design or architecture from a reputed college/university.
• Freshers or candidates with 0-2 years of experience.
• Must be aware about AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, MS Office.
• Internship experience in commercial interiors, workplace design, or architecture firms will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing workplace concepts, space planning, and interior design solutions.
• Prepare mood boards, material palettes, furniture layouts, and design presentations.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings, layouts, elevations, and detailing.
• Develop presentation-quality design documentation for client meetings.

Position Overview:

The Junior Designer will support the Design Team in developing creative, functional and execution-oriented interior design solutions for commercial interior fit-out projects. The role will involve assisting in the preparation of design concepts, layouts, presentations, drawings and documentation while ensuring that project requirements, design standards and timelines are effectively maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development

• Assist in developing workplace concepts, space planning, and interior design solutions.
• Prepare mood boards, material palettes, furniture layouts, and design presentations.
• Produce accurate AutoCAD drawings, layouts, elevations, and detailing.
• Develop presentation-quality design documentation for client meetings.
• Support design revisions based on client and internal feedback.
• Use AI tools to generate concept ideas, design inspirations, mood boards, and visual references.
• Create AI-assisted presentation graphics and design visuals.
• Utilize AI platforms to improve design efficiency and productivity.

Technical Documentation

• Prepare and update construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Assist in creating BOQs, material schedules, and furniture schedules.

Site Coordination

• Participate in site visits for measurements, inspections, and design verification.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers on design clarifications.
• Assist in resolving minor design issues during project execution.
• Support site documentation and progress reporting.

Material & Design Research

• Research innovative materials, finishes, furniture systems, lighting, and workplace solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors for samples and product information.
• Maintain the Design Studio material library and sample inventory.
• Stay updated with global workplace design trends and sustainable design practices.
