Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Chennai is hiring a Junior Engineer for GBS Engineering to support NPIs and ECOs, handling BOM setup, part numbering, and change control.

You will work with ERP BAAN and PLM tools, collaborate with engineering and materials teams, and adapt to night shifts as needed. The role offers health benefits and growth opportunities in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BE (ECE/EEE/E&I) with 0-2 years of experience in NPI/ECO in manufacturing EMS.
• Willing to work night shifts.
• Hands-on in NPI, ECO, BOM management, price matrix processes.
• Working knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN.
• Hands-on experience in PLM software linked to ECO process.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
• Strong English communication and analytical skills.
• Open for shift duties.

Responsibilities

• Create part numbers for BOM in Agile & BAAN.
• Create AVL in Agile & BAAN system.
• Release ECOs and parts for new models post-ECO implementation.
• Release product numbers and BOM structures for new products.
• Coordinate with site Process/Product Engineering teams.
• Review product updates with engineering and materials teams.
• Respond to business partners on ECO-related queries.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Junior Engineer - GBS Engineering located in Chennai.

Typical day

• Creating part numbers for BOM in agile & Baan.
• Creating AVL in agile & Baan system.
• Downloading customer documents like product specifications etc & releasing same in CDC.
• Creating setup like product Number, BOM Structure etc in AGILE & BAAN for new Products.
• Work as a Change Analyst during NPI for new changes.
• Release Part list to production for new models & after implementation of ECO's.
• Efficiently managing ECOs for manufacturing sites across the globe.
• Use Agile (PLM) system for ECO (Engineering Change Order) creation, reviewing, routing, tracking, releasing and distribution.
• Study the ECOs / Drawings closely and coordinate with the site Process / Product Engineering team.
• Work closely with Engineering and materials teams to review product updates / modifications.
• Respond to Business Partner (requestor) and customer on queries relating to Engineering Change Orders.
• Ensure adherence to targets set for all Process Metrics.
• Ensure timely generation and circulation of reports / dashboards.
• Train new and existing team members on an ongoing basis on relevant tools or topics.
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues.
• Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in the execution of procurement processes.
• Prepare Customized reports for analyzing and incorporating improvements in processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E(ECE/EEE/E&I) graduate with (0-2) years of experience as a NPI/ECO Engineer in Manufacturing set up, preferably in EMS industry.
• Flexible to work in night shifts.
• Hands on experience in the following domain:
  • NPI (New Product Introduction)
  • ECO (Engineering Change Order management)
  • BOM (Bill of Materials) Management
  • Price Matrix Process
• Working Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN.
• Hands on Experience in any PLM software linked to ECO process.
• Should have good Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word skills.
• Command over oral and written skills in English.
• Good analytical skills, logical thinking, Coaching & mentoring skills.
• Should be open for shift.
