Job summary

Flex is seeking an Engineer- Component Engineering in Coimbatore to support design and manufacturing teams. You will manage product and part documentation, maintain datasheets and drawings, and ensure accurate component data and approved vendor lists.

The role requires a degree in EEE/ECE/Mech/E&TC with 4–8 years in automotive/EMS/electronics manufacturing, strong communication, and familiarity with OrCAD, CIS, and Allegro. Shifts are available in a diverse, dynamic environment at Flex.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field.
• 4–8 years’ experience in Automotive/EMS/Electronics manufacturing industry.
• Good communication and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design/manufacturing sites for product, part, drawing and related processes.
• Maintain datasheets, functional processes, policies, engineering drawings, changes, reports and specifications.
• Enter and maintain component data and manufacturer information & approved vendor lists in global component database.
• Create a component database for Electrical/Electronic & Indirect materials.
• Quality review of component parameter attributes from datasheets.
• Validate MPNs and provide alternates.
• Monitor component EOL and manage component obsolescence.
• Part of cross-functional team implementing product component changes.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Engineer- Component Engineering in Coimbatore.

What a typical day looks like:

• Responsible to support different design/Manufacturing site for Product, Part, drawing and other design related process.
• Maintenance of various business-related documents including datasheets, functional processes, policies, engineering drawings, engineering changes, project reports, specifications, product proposals and product / Part documentation
• Enter and maintain component data and manufacturer information & approved vendor lists in global component database.
• Create a component database for all the Electrical/Electronic & Indirect materials
• Quality review of the component parameter attributes from datasheets.
• Validate MPN and provide alternates
• Monitor Component EOL and manage the component obsolescence
• Part of a cross-functional team in implementing product component changes within the company

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in EEE / ECE / Mech / E&TC 4 to 8 years’ experience in Automotive Industry /EMS / Electronics Products Manufacturing Industry.
• Good organization and technical communication skills to effectively monitor and convey component end-of-life (EOL) notifications and part change notifications (PCN’s) to Purchasing and Engineering
• Familiar with circuit design principles and board layout guidelines, identifying alternate parts and manufacturers.
• Knowledge of any design softwares software like OrCAD, CIS, Allegro desirable
• Knowledge on electronic components
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
• Planning and prioritizing activities
• Knowledge on MS Office
• Good analytical and logical reasoning
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible for all shifts
