Job summary

Pasona in India seeks a Senior Officer for surface treatment process development and NPD. You will drive coating-related trials, troubleshoot processes and coordinate cross-functionally with customers and suppliers to ensure project success.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years of hands-on automotive paint shop experience, diploma or B.Tech, and strong analytical and communication skills for robust process improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.Tech with 4–7 years in surface treatment or automotive paint processes.
• Experience in NPD and process development for coating applications.
• Hands-on in process optimization and quality troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Handle new product development (NPD) and process development for surface treatments.
• Plan, execute and validate new process trials.
• Troubleshoot coating issues including phosphating, powder coating, liquid painting, and corrosion.
• Prepare process specifications, work instructions, PFMEA, control plans and technical documents.
• Analyze results (coating weight, thickness, SST, adhesion, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

• Handle new product development (NPD) and process development activities for surface treatment processes.
• Plan, execute and validate new process trials.
• Troubleshoot coating-related issues such as phosphating, powder coating, liquid painting and corrosion.
• Prepare process specifications, work instructions, PFMEA, control plans and technical documents.
• Analyse process/test results including coating weight, coating thickness, SST, adhesion and other performance parameters.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams for technical discussions and project execution.
• Support process optimization and continuous improvement.

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Good knowledge of paint shop / surface treatment processes.
• Knowledge of painting defects and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of quality/testing equipment and customer-specific requirements.
• Familiarity with FMEA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, root-cause analysis.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP/SPC/MSA and IATF 16949.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Ideal Candidate

Candidate with hands-on experience in automotive paint shop, coating, phosphating or surface treatment processes, with good troubleshooting and process-development experience.
