Job summary

Breakthrough is seeking an IT Project Manager for BFSI domain to lead end-to-end project lifecycles, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver within timelines.

The role requires hands-on planning, governance, and risk management across initiation, design, development, testing, and deployment, with emphasis on RBI guidelines and ITSM integrations.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years IT project management experience, BFSI domain preferred.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
• Hands-on with end-to-end project lifecycles and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Define scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop detailed project plans.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycles across initiation, design, development, testing, deployment.
• Engage with internal teams, vendors, and business units; governance through steering committees.
• Identify risks, track issues, and implement mitigation to avoid delays.
• Maintain BRDs, project charters, status reports, risk logs; provide updates to leadership.

Project Manager IT Projects (BFSI Domain)

Role Description

IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering IT projects in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) domain. The role demands hands-on experience in managing end-to-end project lifecycles, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring timely delivery aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Manage definition of scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans along with the Project team and manage execution across phases including initiation, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Stakeholder Management

Engage with internal teams, vendors, and business units to ensure alignment and timely communication. Maintain governance through steering committee meetings and escalation matrices.

Risk & Issue Management

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Track issues and ensure timely resolution to avoid project delays.

Documentation & Reporting

Ensure comprehensive documentation including BRDs, project charters, status reports, and risk logs. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to internal standards, RBI guidelines, and IT Project governance frameworks. Support audit and compliance activities as required.

Team Coordination

Lead cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and business teams. Delegate tasks and monitor progress to ensure milestones are met.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of BFSI operations and IT systems
• Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA, MS Project)
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations

Qualifications

• PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred
• 4 to 5 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 to 3 years in BFSI projects

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to core banking systems, ERP integrations (e.g., Oracle Fusion), and digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience in managing compliance-related projects (e.g., RBI directives)
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow and cloud-based infrastructure projects

This role is aligned with strategic initiatives within Breakthrough such as Project Novus, FedOne, and Unified Credit Card Module, and will involve coordination with internal and external teams
