Job summary

Qualtechedge is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise IT projects for BFSI clients. The role requires strong stakeholder management, governance, and cross-functional leadership to ensure quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction.

You will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery across Lending, Banking, Leasing, or Insurance tech solutions while mentoring teams and coordinating with Business Analysts, Developers, and QA Engineers.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years of IT Project Management experience.
• Minimum 5 years of enterprise application development or implementation deliveries.
• Strong SDLC knowledge and hands-on Agile Scrum and Waterfall delivery exposure.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise IT projects for BFSI clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong project management capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, and proven experience in delivering Lending, Banking, Leasing, or Insurance technology solutions.

The role demands ownership of project planning, execution, governance, customer communication, team management, and successful delivery while ensuring quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end execution of multiple IT projects using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Prepare project plans, effort estimations, schedules, resource plans, and delivery milestones.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery within agreed scope, timelines, quality, and budget.
• Proactively identify project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks and drive mitigation plans.
• Ensure successful project closure with complete documentation and customer sign-off.

2. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct regular governance meetings, project status reviews, steering committee meetings, and executive updates.
• Build strong customer relationships through transparent communication and proactive issue resolution.
• Manage customer expectations while balancing delivery commitments and business priorities.
• Handle project escalations effectively and ensure timely resolution.
• Lead cross-functional teams comprising Business Analysts, Developers, QA Engineers, Architects, and Technical Leads.
• Allocate work effectively based on project priorities and team strengths.
• Mentor team members and foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture.
• Track team productivity and ensure optimum resource utilization.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities for project teams.

4. Project Governance & Quality Management

• Establish project governance mechanisms including status reporting, RAID logs, dashboards, and milestone reviews.
• Ensure adherence to project management processes, quality standards, coding practices, and organizational policies.
• Monitor project KPIs including schedule variance, effort variance, defects, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and project retrospectives.
• Manage project budgets, effort tracking, and resource utilization.
• Monitor project financials including planned vs. actual effort and revenue realization.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of resources to maintain project profitability.
• Support scope management and change request evaluation.

6. Delivery Excellence

• Ensure projects meet functional, technical, security, and compliance requirements.
• Drive continuous process improvements and delivery excellence initiatives.
• Promote automation, standardisation, and best practices across projects.
• Ensure documentation, audit readiness, and knowledge management.

7. BFSI Domain Delivery

• Manage implementation of Banking, Lending, Leasing, Insurance, or Digital Financial Services projects.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to ensure business requirements are translated into scalable technology solutions.
• Ensure domain-specific compliance and regulatory considerations are addressed during project execution.

Qualifications & Skills

• 8-15 years of experience in IT Project Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing enterprise application development or implementation projects.
• Strong experience managing Fixed Price and Time & Material (T&M) engagements.
• Proven experience handling multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Hands-on experience with Agile Scrum and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Strong project planning, estimation, scheduling, and risk management skills.
• Experience in customer-facing roles with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of Banking, Lending, Leasing, Insurance, or Digital Financial Services domain.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or equivalent certifications will be an added advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience delivering Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Loan Management Systems (LMS), Leasing Platforms, or Digital Banking solutions.
• Exposure to cloud-based enterprise applications and digital transformation programs.
• Experience working with Indian Banks, NBFCs, or Financial Institutions.
