Job summary

Suryadev Alloys And Power is seeking a Manager Hardware & Networking to ensure the availability, reliability, security and performance of the factory's IT hardware and network infrastructure.

You will lead the planning, installation, maintenance and modernization of the plant's IT infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted connectivity between production, maintenance, quality, stores, purchase, finance, HR, dispatch, security and corporate functions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in planning and managing IT hardware and networking in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, routing and security architecture.
  • Proficiency with Windows/Linux servers, AD, virtualization, storage and backups.

Responsibilities

  • Own factory IT hardware and network infrastructure.
  • Plan, deploy and maintain servers, desktops, printers, networking gear and storage solutions.
  • Ensure connectivity between production, maintenance, quality, stores, purchase, finance, HR, dispatch, security and corporate functions.
  • Design, monitor and optimize LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
  • Provide IT helpdesk support and manage tickets to meet SLAs.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

The Manager Hardware & Networking is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, security and performance of the factory's IT hardware and network infrastructure.

The role will lead the planning, installation, maintenance, monitoring and modernization of the plant's IT infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity between production, maintenance, quality, stores, purchase, finance, HR, dispatch, security and corporate functions.

A. IT Infrastructure Management
  • Own the complete hardware and network infrastructure of the factory.
  • Plan, deploy and maintain:
    • Servers
    • Desktops and laptops
    • Printers and scanners
    • Network switches
    • Routers
    • Firewalls
    • Wi-Fi infrastructure
    • Racks and structured cabling
    • UPS and power backup for IT infrastructure
    • Storage and backup systems
  • Maintain IT infrastructure inventory and asset registers.
  • Ensure standardization of hardware and infrastructure across departments.
  • Develop preventive-maintenance schedules for critical IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure timely replacement of obsolete or end-of-life equipment.
B. Factory Network Management
  • Design and manage the plant-wide LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure reliable connectivity between:
    • Production areas
    • Control rooms
    • Laboratories
    • Warehouses
    • Stores
    • Offices
    • Security gates
    • Dispatch areas
    • Corporate office
  • Configure and manage switches, routers, firewalls and access points.
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization and availability.
  • Identify and eliminate network bottlenecks.
  • Manage VLANs, IP addressing, routing and network segmentation.
  • Ensure redundancy for critical network connections.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and telecom providers.
  • Maintain network diagrams and infrastructure documentation.
C. Hardware Lifecycle Management

Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets:

Requirement Specification Procurement Installation Configuration Maintenance Upgrade Replacement Disposal

  • Hardware procurement support
  • Installation and commissioning
  • Warranty management
  • AMC management
  • Asset tagging
  • Asset utilization monitoring
  • E-waste disposal coordination
D. IT Helpdesk & User Support
  • Establish effective IT support mechanisms for factory users.
  • Ensure timely resolution of hardware and network issues.
  • Monitor helpdesk tickets and service-level performance.
  • Establish escalation mechanisms for critical issues.
  • Identify recurring problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to plant leadership and critical departments.
